Well Spelled Takes the Capital Goods

The track was sloppy (sealed), but all seven ran, including the entry of Capital Goods (Corinthian - T. K. O. Lady by Two Punch) and Economic Forecast (Congrats - Our Secretary by Belong to Me). Got What (Mr. Greeley - Silver Tornado by Maria's Mon) was favored, the entry of Capital Goods and Economic Forecast was 3-1, and Meeting (Street Sense - Follow That Dream (GB) by Darshaan (GB)) was 20-1. Mr. Beer Goggles (Unbridled's Song - Misty Rosette by Stormin Fever) seemed to be enjoying the slop, Economic Forecast not so much. Capital Goods got a nice warmup. The fog rolled in as they were loading, and the start was a bit of a mystery. Mr. Beer Goggles went to the front, with Capital Goods and Well Spelled after him. Got What was involved for a bit, but then weakened. Meeting was at the back early. Capital Goods and Well Spelled got by Mr. Beer Goggles late, finishing together, with Well Spelled who got his head in front for the win. Capital Goods was 1/2 length ahead of Mr. Beer Goggles, who held 3rd over Economic Forecast. Meeting made up some ground to finish 5th, and Perfect Gratitude (More Than Ready - Lenatareese by Broad Brush) and Got What completed the finish. Watch the Replay.

Melrose Rolls Late

Magic Fire (Awesome Again - Bar U Mood by Saratoga Six) was scratched, leaving 8 on the fast track. Flashy Dame (Afleet Alex - My Silver Girl by Silver Deputy) was favored by a bit over Nihilist (Latent Heat - Ever Imelda by Personal Hope), and debuting Salt Tequila Lime (Roman Ruler - Miss Wineshine by Wolf Power (SAF)) also received plenty of attention from the bettors. Chestnut Moon (Corinthian - Dance Special by Theatrical (IRE)) was 26-1. She was looking a little apprehensive on the track. I was liking Lady Vivien (Posse - Guinevere by Fit to Fight), and thought longshot Bonnie Parker (Aptitude - Zelna J by Roy) was kind of interesting. Salt Tequila Lime got off to a good start, and Nihilist was up with her. Flashy Dame came on to join this pair. It looked like these three would decide it, but Melrose Woods jumped into the picture late on the outside, going by for the win. Flashy Dame came up the rail to grab second over Salt Tequila Lime, while Nihilist had to settle for fourth. Chestnut Moon was off slowly, and made up some places to finish 5th. Watch the Replay.

Don - I am a little bit interested in the two Sheppard trainees, Zendara and Maggie the Cat, running at Tampa Bay. Might be something there. Andrew's Girl is a scratch, by the way, so Awesome Angie gets in.
