Afford (colt; Street Sense - Unaffordable by Unbridled) trailed early in race 7 at Fair Grounds, a mile and 70 yard Allowance/Optional Claiming Race, and then came rolling on the outside for a determined nose victory over Tiz Moe, despite being pushed out by that rival in the stretch. Watch the Replay. Personally, I was more impressed with Afford than Fed Biz (see below), but I may be a bit biased. Afford now has 2 wins and 2 thirds in four starts, with earnings of $52,904.
Blueskiesnrainbows (colt; English Channel - Cho Cho San by Deputy Minister) finished third in race 2 at Santa Anita, a mile Allowance/Optional Claiming Race, behind 5 3/4 length winner Fed Biz (Giant's Causeway - Spunoutacontrol by Wild Again) and 2nd-place Consulado (More Than Ready - Goodbye Stranger by Broad Brush), who was 6 1/2 lengths in front of Blueskiesnrainbows.
