An Obsession With Winning

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Urbanini (Bernardini - Urbane by Citidancer) took the early money, but Ocean Bertie (Posse - Get Ready Bertie by More Than Ready) was favored at post time. She looked nice in the paddock. Cherishd Obsession (Corinthian - Silver Wench by Silver Ghost) was 5-2, Invasor Beauty (Invasor - She's Scrumpy by Squadron Leader) was 8-1, and Street Fantasy (Street Sense - Rich Fantasy by Richter Scale) was almost 35-1. Only Exception (Tiznow - Favorite Times by Souvenir Copy) was displaying some fire as they went to the track. Street Fantasy made a favorable impression, and Cherishd Obsession was her usual good-looking self. She broke on top, but Street Fantasy went by her to set the early pace, as Cherishd Obsession assumed a stalking position. They stayed that way for a time, but then Cherishd Obsession moved on by. She opened up by four. Urbanini ran well late to reduce the margin, but there was no catching Cherisd Obsession, who won by 2 3/4 lengths. Urbanini finished more than 2 in front of Ocean Bertie, while Street Fantasy weakened to fourth. Invasor Beauty was up close for a time, but tired to finish 6th. Cherishd Obsession now has 1 win, 4 seconds, and a third in 6 starts, with earnings of $52,270. Watch the Replay.

The Winning Bloom

The track was fast, and all 9 ran. Theatricality (Purim - Theatrical Review by Theatrical (IRE)) was favored, with Grammy Pat (Discreet Cat - The in Thing by Wild Again) also getting plenty of attention. Survival Instinct (Corinthian - Mezzo by Broad Brush) was almost 68-1. Zucchini Flower (Flower Alley - Heathers Promise by Silver Buck) made a favorable first impression. Survival Instinct was showing some spunk on the track, and Celtic Katie (Posse - Katie's Love by Not For Love) was a little interesting, but I was still liking Zucchini Flower. Slick Philly (Silent Name (JPN) - Youknowshesright by Smart Strike) set the pace, with Zucchini Flower her closest competition. Penthouse Party (Offlee Wild - Expect Excellence by Pentelicus) came up the rail to get involved. Zucchini Flower set after Slick Philly, as Celtic Kate started making up ground. Zucchini Flower took the lead, and pulled free. She went on to win by 6 lengths over Celtic Kate, who was more than 3 clear of Penthouse Party. Favorite Theatricality made up some ground to finish fourth, and Survival Instinct finished 9th (last) after showing some early interest. Watch the Replay.

B. A.'s Mancini Leads the Way

North by Northlite (North Light (IRE) - Square Dancing by Western Expression) was scratched, leaving 6 on the Polytrack. Bail Me Out (Suvivalist - Bail Out Becky by Red Ransom) was the heavy favorite. Chokoloskee (Corinthian - Devils Lake by Lost Code) was 8-1. Sugar Shenanigan's (Cape Town - Luff by Easy Goer) went to the front, chased by B. A.'s Mancini (Mancini - B. A. Valentine by Apalachee). Chokoloskee was left at the start, and was many lengths behind the next horse. B. A.'s Mancini moved closer to pacesetter Sugar Shenanigan's, as favorite Bail Me Out began to get involved. B. A.'s Mancini took the lead in the stretch, and held off Any Given Chance (Any Given Saturday - Chanceisalady by American Chance) for a 1 3/4 length win. Four Point (Rock Hard Ten - Tutorial by Forty Niner) took third, outfinishing favorite Bail Me Out, who had to settle for fourth. Chokoloskee never got involved after her poor start finishing 6th (last). Watch the Replay.

Don from PA/DE

Hope some of u entered the name Rachel A colt contest, I sure did, very happy with my name, will share after contest in over Monday.

Looked at GS & TB races above, GS like the #9..'Windsurfer' looks real tough, with #6 Grouse...TB,#9 again 'Magnifica' looks tough, with #12 "Ella Marie" if she runs.

Lots of other great races today, Henny Hughes runners look good. Don

Don - My biggest question with the Tampa race is the surface. I like Queen of England on the turf, but she'll probably scratch if they are off.
