Reaching for the Sky

Barisoff (Put It Back - Miz Betty Grace by Matty G) was scratched. She'll run on Saturday instead (see below). Her entrymate Skylander (Bring the Heat - Heads Will Roll (GB) by Efisio (GB)) was made the favorite. Larry Zip It (Run Away and Hide - Caught Red Handed by Officer), the first runner for Run Away and Hide, was 7-2, and Fire Your Boss (Street Boss - Song for Annie by Sultry Song), the initial starter for Street Boss, was 7-1. I liked Fire Your Boss at first glance in the paddock. He was announced as a gelding. High Diver (Sky Diving - Ft. Mann by Fort Chaffee) was a little skittish. Larry Zip It had some spunk on the track, but favorite Skylander was looking good. He leapt to the lead like a typical Wesley Ward-trainee. Concho Halo (Lydgate - Concho Valley by Sunny's Halo), Fire Your Boss, and High Diver took after him. It was a futile attempt, however, as Skylander pulled away from the field. He went on to post an easy 9-length win. Greengrassofyoming (Quest - Flick by Dehere) and Count On Silver (Eurosilver - Count Sequence by Forestry) finished a nose apart in second and third, and High Diver took fourth. Fire Your Boss tired to 7th, and Larry Zip It was never much involved finishing 8th. Watch the Replay.
