Bridge Jumper was Too Prohibiting

All eight ran, and the track was fast. Bridge Jumper (Storm Victory - Never Late Early by Pyramid Peak) was the heavy favorite. Prohibiting (Midnight Lute - Blazing Cat by Tabasco Cat) got some respect at 9-1. I was kind of liking filly Pineapple (Forestry - Ms Louisett by Siphon (BRZ)) on the track. Poogie (Western Expression - Cruisewear by Hold That Tiger) seemed a little on edge, her jockey had his feet out of the irons throughout the warmup. Prohibiting is a big guy, not unlike his sire, 3.5 furlongs might not be his best distance. The start was pretty good for most, but exceptional for Bridge Jumper, who was several lengths in front by first call. Pineapple and Lady Henrietta (Forest Danger - Condeleezza S. by Alydeed) were his closest pursuers. Prohibiting was in 4th early. Bridge Jumper continued to roll, and there was no catching him, as he crossed the wire 3 1/2 lengths in front. And, all the bridge jumpers among the bettors were safe. Pineapple kept on, holding second over Lady Henrietta, with Willamette (Rosberg - Napa by Feu d'Enfer) in fourth. Prohibiting finished 5th, but not a bad effort for his first attempt. I'm not familiar with the sire Storm Victory. Is he a Storm Cat stallion??  Did he race and was he any good?

Kristen - Yes, Storm Victory is by Storm Cat. His dam is Funistrada, by Fappiano. Funistrada was a grade II winner, who was also grade I stakes-placed. She earned $479,404. Storm Victory did not race, but he is a half brother to stakes winner Conte Di Savoya, and grade II winner Krisada. Storm Victory, who was born in 2000, stands in British Columbia. His first year at stud was 2005. He's had 51 winners, and 5 stakes winners.

This "Maidenwatch" edition is very old.  Just wonder why there are no newer posts. Is this supposed to be a weekly blog or what?  No notable  maidens have debuted in the last week and a half?
