I hope that everyone had a prosperous Preakness Stakes, and enjoyed I'll Have Another's victory. We haven't missed any North American entries during the blog hiatus, however Henrythenavigator has had three new European runners. Cristoforo Colombo (colt; Henrythenavigator - La Traviata by Johannesburg) was a winner in his first start, a 6 furlong contest over good ground at Navan on May 20. Cristoforo Colombo is the second foal out of grade III winner La Traviata, who earned $129,248. La Traviata's first foal is group I winner Crusade, who has earned $164,123. La Traviata is a half sister to one winner, and a full sister to one winner. Jillnextdoor (filly; Henrythenavigator - Royal Shyness (GB) by Royal Academy) finished 2nd in her debut at about 5 furlongs over good to soft ground at Newbury on May 18, chasing the winner Lady Phill (Avonbridge (GB) - Lady Filly (GB) by Atraf (GB)) home. Jillnextdoor was purchased for $65,054 as a yearling, and is out of stakes winner Royal Shyness, who earned $193,660, and was a winner at 2. Royal Shyness has produced 3 winners, including stakes-placed Commander Cave, who earned $120,219. Royal Shyness is a half sister to 8 winners, including group I stakes-placed Miracle Match. Nelsons Dockyard (colt; Henrythenavigator - High Heel Sneakers (GB) by Dansili (GB) finished 14th of 15th in his only start, an about 6 furlong contest over good to soft ground at Newbury on May 18. He is the first foal out of stakes winner High Heel Sneakers, a winner at 2, who earned $212,137 overall. High Heel Sneakers is a half sister to 4 winners, including stakes-placed Easy Sundae.

Two-year-old colt Special Jo (Johannesburg - Quiet City by Carson City) was an impressive 6-length debut winner today at Churchill Downs, running the 5 furlongs in :58.53. Watch the Replay.

I have moved workouts to the bottom of the blog. I am not going to update all of the works since the last blog, but I will list those from today.

For those following Raven's Pass, I saw that he has a filly called Lovely Pass (Raven's Pass - Macadamia (IRE) by Classic Cliche (IRE)) debuting in the first race at Lingfield on May 26, post time 12:55 PM ET.

Stakes Entry

Infanta Branca (filly; Henrythenavigator - Totemic by Vanlandingham) runs in the 5 furlong Emirates Equestrian EBF Marble Hill Stakes (Listed) at the Curragh. Post time is 9:10 AM. Infanta Branca has run twice previously, finishing  2nd at 5 furlongs over good ground at Cork on April 7, and winning a 5 furlong race over soft ground at the Curragh on April 22. Interestingly, the winner of the April 7 race, Liberating, is also in this race, as well as Katchy Lady, who was 4th on April 7. Infanta Branca is out of grade III winner Totemic, who earned $138,438 in her career. Totemic has produced 4 additional winners, including stakes winner Art Museum, group III winner Cherokee, and grade II winner Lil's Lad. Totemic is a half sister to one winner.

It was the first and only start for both. Caught Lion was a $25,000 yearling, and is a half sister to the winner Pops Is Wild. Their dam, Pops Has Money, is a half sister to 4 winners, including stakes winner Exceptional Ride, who earned $234,138. Shi Shi Foo Foo, who broke inward on May 12, will get blinkers for this start. She is one of 2 starters for first-crop sire First Defence. His other runner, the 2-year-old colt Loftin, finished 12th in his only start, a 5 furlong race at Lone Star Park. Grade I winner First Defence (Unbridled's Song) was a winner at 2, and earned $580,534 in his career. He won the Forego Handicap (gr. I) and the Long Branch Breeders' Cup Stakes on the dirt, and the Jaipur Stakes (gr. IIIT) on the turf. Shi Shi Foo Foo is the first foal out of the unraced mare Peggotty. The others are unraced, including Tracey's Smile (Zanjero - Queen of Millbrook by Distinctive Pro), who is by freshman sire Zanjero. Zanjero's three runners have each run once, recording one win and one third, with earnings of $18,728. Grade II winner Zanjero was a winner at 2, and earned $1,620,786 in his career, including wins in the Kentucky Cup Classic (gr. II), the Indiana Derby (gr. II), and the West Virginia Derby (gr. III). Tracey's Smile was purchased for $28,000 as a yearling, and is out of stakes winner Queen of Millbrook. She has produced three winners from three to run, including one that was a debut winner at 2. Queen of Millbrook is a half sister to 8 winners, including stakes-placed Titan of Industry.

Just Got In (Songandaprayer - Imastorming by Hennessy) is part of a Ricky Griffith trained entry with Tracey's Smile. Just Got In was purchased for $10,000 as a weanling, and for $15,000 as a yearling. She is out of the winning mare Imastorming, who has produced 2 winners. Imastorming is a half sister to 13 winners, including stakes winner Curtain Raiser, and grade III winners I Rejoice, I'm a Thriller, and Millencolin.

Selling for $55,000 as a yearling was Bold Birdie (Birdstone - On the Podium by Bold Executive), who is the second foal out of stakes-placed On the Podium. On the Podium, who was a debut winner at 2, is the dam of stakes-placed Quality Lass, who was a winner at 2. On the Podium is a half sister to 2 winners, including stakes winner You Don't Pass, who has earned $247,392.

Mississauga (Bluegrass Cat - Simply Again by Dance Brightly) was purchased for $35,340 as a yearling, and is the second foal out of stakes-placed Simply Again, who earned $207,066, and was placed at 2. Simply Again is a half sister to 4 winners.

Helio Bird (Artie Schiller - Ginny Winner by Old Trieste) sold for $4,000 as a yearling, and is the first foal out of the winning mare Ginny Winner. Ginny Winner is a half sister to 6 winners.

Slamin' Dixie (Grand Slam - Allison's Pride by Dixieland Band) is a half sister to 7 winners, including stakes-placed Penobscot Bay, who earned $168,419 and was 2 for 2 at 2. Four other siblings of Slamin' Dixie also ran at 2. Allison's Pride, dam of Slamin' Dixie, is a half sister to 5 winners, including stakes-placed Lindero.

He is the first foal out of the unraced mare Sweet and Clever. Sweet and Clever is a half sister to 8 winners, including stakes winner Interest Only, and grade III stakes-placed Moon Over Prospect, who earned $242,787.

Majestic Desert (Majestic Warrior - Classy Clarita by Mr. Greeley) is by first-crop sire Majestic Warrior, whose 3 runners have made 5 combined starts, recording 2 seconds, 1 third, and earnings of $20,367. Grade I winner Majestic Warrior won his first 2 starts at 2, including the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I), and earned $239,229 in his career. Majestic Desert was purchased for $15,000 as a weanling, and for $40,000 as a yearling. He is the second foal out of the unplaced mare Classy Clarita. Selling for $180,000 as a yearling was Moreno's Mine (Mineshaft - Fi by Langfuhr), who is out of the winning mare Fi. Fi was a winner at 2, and has produced the winner Best of Times. Best of Times, a debut winner at 2, is a full sister to Moreno's Mine. Fi is a half sister to 3 winners, including stakes winner Dawn of Forever.

Manewal (City Zip - Nickel Candy by Silver Deputy) was purchased for $25,000 as a weanling, and is the second foal out of the winning mare Nickel Candy. Nickel Candy is a half sister to 7 winners, including grade II winner Globalize, who earned $623,650.

Eddie Better (Eddington - Rahy Connection by Rahy) was purchased for $13,000 as a yearling, and is a full brother to 2 winners, including one that won at 2. Rahy Connection, dam of Eddie Better, is a half sister to 9 winners, including stakes winner Dinner At Arlene's and grade I winner Link River.

Tates Humor (Henny Hughes - Tates Queen by Distorted Humor) is the first foal out of the winning mare Tates Queen. Tates Queen is a half sister to the winner Curl Cat.

Stretch (Swiss Yodeler - Jeanie's Game by Game Plan) is the second foal out of the unplaced mare Jeanie's Game. Jeanie's Game is out of the winning mare Georgia Lights.

New Worker

No Curfew (filly; Curlin - Misty Hour by Miswaki) worked 3 furlongs in :39.20 at the WinStar Training Center. She is out of stakes winner Misty Hour, who won three races at 2, including her debut and the Glorious Song Stakes. Misty Hour earned $157,844 in her career, and has produced 6 winners including stakes winners Pilfer and Sing Softly, and grade II winner India. Two of her offspring won at 2, including Pilfer, who was a debut winner that season. Pilfer is the dam of grade I winner To Honor and Serve, who runs in Monday's Met Mile (gr. I) at Belmont Park.

Returning Workers

Naked Watch (filly; Curlin - Time Reveals All by Pulpit) went 3 furlongs in :39.33 at Saratoga.

Also at Saratoga, Palace Malice (colt; Curlin - Palace Rumor by Royal Anthem) worked 4 furlongs in :49.65.

Stopshoppingdebbie (filly; Curlin - Taste the Passion by Wild Again) worked at Emerald Downs, 2 furlongs in :25.60.

Electromagnetic (colt; Henrythenavigator - Wind in My Wings by Sligo Bay (IRE)) worked at Keeneland, 5 furlongs in 1:02.40.
