June 15 Result

The Gal was Too Good for George

The ground was soft, and Cougar Ridge (Johannesburg - Wild as Elle by Elnadim) was scratched, leaving 6. George Vancouver (Henrythenavigator - Versailles Treaty by Danzig) was favored at even money. Also getting some respect were Tennessee Wildcat (Kheleyf - Windbeneathmywings (IRE) by In the Wings (GB)) and Katchy Lady (Kyllachy (GB) - Star Approval (IRE) by Hawk Wing). Katchy Lady held the early advantage, chased by Cool Metallic (Medicean (GB) - Polite Reply (IRE) by Be My Guest). Also close up was Tennessee Wildcat. He made a move, and hit the front, but couldn't hold it. Coming from off the pace was Versilia Gal (Footstepsinthesand (GB) - Tuscany Lady (IRE) by Danetime (IRE)), who fought off Katchy Lady for a 1/2 length win. Cool Metallic was another 1/2 length back in third, with Tennessee Wildcat finishing fourth, followed by George Vancouver, who ran evenly throughout, and Bedecked (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) - Fainne (IRE) by Peintre Celebre), who was never really involved.
