Brenda's Bar (Midnight Lute - Les Cocos by Honour and Glory) makes his second start, after trailing throughout in his debut at Northlands on June 20. That race was at 3.5 furlongs over a good track. The extra 2 furlongs, plus the experience should help him here. He's worked a couple of times since his debut, including 4 furlongs in :50.20 on July 6. Brenda's Bar was purchased for $18,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company 2012 Spring Sales of Two-Year-Olds in Training. He is the second foal out of the unraced mare Les Cocos. Les Cocos is a half sister to 4 winners, including grade I stakes-placed Liquidity, who earned $240,520. Midnight Lute has had 6 runners, which have made a total of 8 starts, recording 1 win, 1 second, one third, and earnings of $23,991.

Nats Golden Nugget (Desperately - Golden Remark by Regal Remark) finished 3rd, in front of Brenda's Bar, on June 20 at Northlands Park, after acting during the load. It was his only start. He is out of stakes winner Golden Remark, who won 2 races at 2, including the Sturgeon River Stakes. Overall, Golden Remark earned $235,021 in 35 starts. She is a half sister to 3 winners, and a full sister to 4 winners, including stakes winner Crescent Remark, and grade III stakes-placed Pat of Gold.

Country Button (Deputy Country - Alpinia by Geri) finished 4th in his only race, a 3.5 furlong contest over a muddy track at Northlands on June 10. He is a half brother to stakes-placed Fahspa. Their dam, Alpinia, is a half sister to 2 winners.

Skim (Skimming - Ascending Lady by Excavate) ran evenly to finish 5th in his lone start, a 3.5 furlong race on a fast Northlands track on June 24. He is out of the winning mare Ascending Lady, who is a half sister to 4 winners, including Bachoco, who was group I stakes-placed in Mexico.

Another veteran of one start at 3.5 furlongs at Northlands is Omission (Defer - Naima by Quiet American), who finished 5th in a Maiden Claiming race on June 27. Interestingly, he was second-choice in the wagering that day. He was purchased for $1,200 as a yearling, and is the second foal out of Naima, who was a winner at 2. Naima is a full sister to one winner, and a half sister to 2 winners, including stakes winner Feodor.

Quintilis (July Child - Betyouwishyouhad by Bet Twice) and Stealer of Gold (Gold Legend - Steal a Win by Fruition) are unraced. Quintilis was purchased for $1,000 as a 2-year-old, and is out of the winning mare Betyouwishyouhad. Betyouwishyouhad has produced 2 winners, one of which won at 2. Betyouwishyouhad is a full sister to stakes-placed Royal Exacta, and a half sister to 8 winners. Stealer of Gold, the only filly in the race, is the first foal out of the winning mare Steal a Win. Steal a Win is a full sister to one winner, and a half sister to 3 winners.

I won the Lanes End contest for their highest price consignee at yesterdays Yearling sale. The Street Boss-Fashion Planner colt sold for 160K. The winner gets a LE hat. However, I received an email from their marketing dept this morning and asked if they had any Dixie Union Hats left because I'm stone cold in love with Union Rag's and they did still have some. They put it in the mail to me today...I know its silly, it's just a hat, but I never win anything so YAY  me   LOL !
