Funfair On the Turf

Saponetta Bobo (Shaniko - Private Prom Party by Private Terms) was scratched, along with the MTOs Lenderoflastresort (Yes It's True - Pashmina by Pentelicus) and Ruby Lips (Hard Spun - Its a Ruby by Rubiano). Priscilla Marie (Bustin Stones - Hay Jude by Wavering Monarch), the only filly with previous experience, was favored, but 5 horses went off at less than 5-1, including High N Far (Giant's Causeway - Take the Ribbon by Chester House), Funfair (More Than Ready - Fleuron by Distant View), Colorful Image (Ready's Image - Colorama by Giant's Causeway), and Giant Cats Eye (Giant's Causeway - Unreal Cat by Unreal Zeal). The latter filly was reluctant to load. Priscilla Marie and Funfair went for the lead at the break, and were soon several lengths in front of the others. High N Far and Colorful Image were the nearest pursuers. Priscilla Marie and Funfair continued to race as a team. But as they entered the stretch, Funfair began to pull away. She went on to post a 3 1/2 length victory. Priscilla Marie was secure in second over Colorful Image. High N Far was fourth, followed by Giant Cats Eye, Bebes Passion (Utopia (JPN) - Nueva Turista by Tour d'Or), Seven Dreams (Majestic Warrior - Seventh Choice by El Prado (IRE)), and Lady Jarlyn (Imperialism - Saralina Jo by Executive Order).
