Teen Pauline Reins Supreme

The Party's Here (Black Mambo - Inaspecial Way by Seattle Sleet) was scratched from the main field, which allowed AE Real Good Time (Hard Spun - Sunbeam Music by Fly So Free) to run. The other AEs, including Ol Donyo (Curlin - Royal Tigress by Storm Cat), were left out. The track was fast. Lucky Friend (Friends Lake - Lucky Alizea by Forestry), the only experienced filly in the race, was made the favorite. Also getting some attention was Teen Pauline (Tapit - Effectual by Carson City). My Happy Face (Tiz Wonderful - Summer Star by Siberian Summer) was upset in the gate, and had to be backed out and reloaded. High Inflation (Touch Gold - Unreined by Unbridled) also balked a bit at the load. Gadget Girl (More Than Ready - Rough Water by Stormin Fever) went to the front. She was joined by Teen Pauline. My Happy Face, Lucky Friend, and High Inflation were just off the top 2. As they moved into the turn, Teen Pauline took a short lead, and then she really started running. She went on to post an easy 4 3/4 length win, while setting a new track record for 5 furlongs. My Happy Face took second, and it was a long way back to the others, who were led by a tired Gadget Girl.  Watch the Replay.

Lea's Exchange for the Win

The Tea Cups (Hard Spun - Lunar Colony by A.P. Indy), entrymate to Hold Our Destiny (Midnight Lute - Perfect Charm by Charismatic), was the only scratch, and the turf was firm. Shirts and Shoes (Sky Mesa - Royal Trips by Summer Squall) was the even-money favorite. Hold Our Destiny was 5-1. Hemisphere (Spring At Last - Fantasyafield by El Corredor) was a little rambunctious in the paddock. Jen's Bright Candl (Grand Slam - Gal's Victory by Victory Gallop) looked good on the track. Hold Our Destiny is a big girl, like many of the Midnight Lutes. Nome N Numbers (Fairbanks - Smoke N Numbers by Smoke Glacken) acted up before the load, and Star Leen (Fantasticat - Straight Blues by Straight Man) was not interested in going in the gate. The start was decent. Jen's Bright Candl sped to the lead. Lea's Exchange (Exchange Rate - Cat Lea by Cat Thief) was her nearest pursuer. Hold Our Destiny was near the back. Jen's Bright Candl continued to lead, but Lea's Exchange was getting closer, and rolled on by. She went on to win by 4 lengths at 44-1. It's Closing Time (Closing Argument - Deal the Cards by Mt. Livermore) outfinished favorite Shrits and Shoes for second. Hold Our Destiny starting running late to pick up fourth. Watch the Replay.

Lammtarra's Arc

Well we have seen speedy 2 year old's a lot, even track record holders who have not done one thing as a 3year old.  This reminds me of JC's Pride last year.
