The ground was firm, and Emperatriz (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) - Fairmont (IRE) by Kingmambo) was the only nonrunner. Excellent Mariner (Henrythenavigator - Castara Beach (IRE) by Danehill) was favored. She got off to a good start, but Linguine (Linngari (IRE) - Amerissage by Rahy) went to the lead. He was rank up there, tossing his head about. Excellent Mariner pressed Linguine, who was starting to settle better. Following this pair was Baraboy (Barathea (IRE) - Irina (IRE) by Polar Falcon) and Sadfig (Notnowcato (GB) - Coconut Queen (IRE) by Alhaarth (IRE)). Excellent Mariner put her head in front, but Linguine refused to go away. He regained the lengths lost, and at the wire 1/2 length in front. It was more than 4 lengths back to the rest of them, led by Sadfig and He's A Striker (Footstepsinthesand (GB) - Aiming Upwards (GB) by Blushing Fame). Watch the Replay.
