Steelman Makes a Run

The track was fast. Lazer Red (Seeking a Home - Frolicing Frog by Waquoit) was scratched, allowing AE Tricky Red Devil (Midway Road - Tricky Lil Devil by Favorite Trick) to get into the race. The other AE entrant, Excess Bling (Too Much Bling - Excess Loot by In Excess (IRE)), was left out. Gray Flyer (Early Flyer - Touch Tone Gray by Rubiano) was favored. Hoot'a Loot (Midnight Lute - It's True Romance by Yes It's True) was almost 25-1. He made a decent appearance. Travel Time (Primal Storm - Ana's Lady Bird by Lord Carson) had some pep. Frio Flyer (Early Flyer - First Final by Hadif) looked good, and Gray Flyer looked even better. Hoot'a Loot loaded much better than in his debut, but Donald Gene (Songandaprayer - Friendly Skies by Tactical Advantage) was a bit of a problem child. Clever Touch (Touch Tone - Clever Crew by Hadif) was slow to start, the rest were off well. Travel Time came through on the rail to set the pace, but he had company from Steelman Run (Kitalpha - Charmer Venture (GB) by Zilzal), Gray Flyer, Change Anything (Harlington - Razzi Cat by Storm Cat), and coming up on the outside, Chris'expectations (Valid Expectations - Lady Wildcat by Forest Wildcat). Hoot'a Loot was near the back early. The battle continued up front, with Chris'expectations, Steelman Run, and Travel Time the main combatants. It was 66-1 Steelman Run, who came between horses to get the victory. Travel Time was second, a nose in front of Chris'expectations, who was a neck better than Gray Flyer. There was a break back to Donald Gene and a closing Hoot'a Loot in 5th and 6th. Hopefully, Hoot'a Loot will get a little more distance next time. Watch the Replay.
