Hold Our Destiny (Midnight Lute - Perfect Charm by Charismatic) was unsettled in the gate, dueled for most of the race, and took a short lead, but couldn't hold off Touring Hong Kong (Cherokee's Boy - Hongkong Tour by Broken Vow), who won by 1 1/4 lengths. It was a good effort, however, for Hold Our Destiny, running second at 38-1 odds. Watch the Replay.

Sayaad at the End

The race was run on the good turf, so MTO Reaching Out (Big Brown - Touch too Much by Holy Bull) was scratched. Also scratched was Upswell (Stormy Atlantic - Rich City Girl by Carson City). Sayaad (Street Sense - Time for a Crown by Time for a Change) was the even money choice. Never the End (Latent Heat - Red Dot by Diesis (GB)) went to the lead, and Sayaad set after him. Also chasing early were Unlikely Scenario (Distorted Humor - Lassie's Legacy by Deputy Minister), and Coolusive (Elusive Quality - Ice Cool Kitty by Tomorrows Cat). As they reached the top of the stretch, Sayaad was getting closer. Never the End hung in for awhile, but he couldn't hold off the favorite, as Never the End went on to win by 1/2 length. Unlikely Scenario finished well, just 1/2 length back in third. It was more than four back to 4th-place Coolusive. Watch the Replay.

Disco at the Winner's Circle

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Cat With a Twist (Bluegrass Cat - Lemon Blossom by Lemon Drop Kid) took the early money, but Disco Barbie (Pure Prize - Cimmaron Lady by Grand Slam), the only filly with experience, was favored at post time. Pow Wow Wow (Indian Charlie - Elusive Bird by Elusive Quality) was also given a good chance. Neat Package (Big Brown - Miss Loren (ARG) by Numerous) was 9-1. Disco Barbie made a favorable first impression, and Neat Package looked good. I was liking Pow Wow Wow. She definitely was showing some spunk on the track. I thought Neat Package might need more ground. The start was good. She's a Gold Mine (Smart Strike - In the Gold by Golden Missile) went to the lead, with On Balance (Stephen Got Even - Swiftly Tilting by Belong to Me) and Pow Wow Wow chasing. Pow Wow Wow made an early move, and hit the front, with Disco Barbie taking second. Neat Package seemed to be poised to get involved, but stalled. Pow Wow Wow and Disco Barbie quickly left the others behind. Disco Barbie took a short lead. Pow Wow Wow showed some greenness, trying to get out, and then not switching leads (she may even have hit the rail late), but kept on trying. Disco Barbie's experience paid off, however, and she pulled away late for a length win. It was 9 lengths back to She's a Gold Mine in third, followed by War Relic (Pulpit - Seoul by Deputy Minister), Cat With a Twist, Neat Package, and On Balance. Watch the Replay.

Don from PA/DE

Wow Chris, my thinking of DP Race5 was same, Disco B was my final selection based upon experience but do think Pow might have won and should next time, freaked a bit in the stretch as DB challenged, it paid off as I wheeled DB in DD and an 80-1 shot won the next race, would have never selected the winner in that won beat a very heavy favorite #10 over #9....Disco made me dance!
