George Vancouver (colt; Henrythenavigator - Versailles Treaty by Danzig) finished 3rd in the group I Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at 7 furlongs at Newmarket, about 3 lengths behind winner Dawn Approach (New Approach (IRE) - Hymn of the Dawn by Phone Trick), who is now a perfect 6 for 6. Leitir Mor (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) - Christinas Letter (IRE) by Galileo (IRE)) was second. George Vancouver now has 1 win, 1 second, and 1 third in 6 starts, with earnings of $160,275. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Dewhurst Stakes here.

Cristoforo Colombo (colt; Henrythenavigator - La Traviata by Johannesburg) finished 4th in the 6 furlong Group I Vision.ae Middle Stakes at Newmarket behind undefeated Reckless Abandon (Exchange Rate - Sant Elena (GB) by Efisio (GB). It was not a bad effort, as he was just over a length behind the top trio of Reckless Abandon, Moohaajim (Cape Cross (IRE) - Thiella by Kingmambo), and Gale Force Ten (Oasis Dream (GB) - Ronaldsay (GB) by Kirkwall (GB)), who were separated by just a couple of necks. The Original Script is a Winner

One Foxy Grey (Big Brown - Irish Smoke by Smoke Glacken) was scratched, as well as Smartyfly (Smart Strike - Scarlet Butterfly by Theatrical (IRE)), leaving 5 to run. Original Script (Malibu Moon - Seanachai by El Prado (IRE)), the only debut runner, was favored. She went right to the lead. Shi Shi Foo Foo (First Defence - Peggotty by David Copperfield) went after her early, followed by Tizgone (Tiznow - Dance to the Sea by Gone West), Include the Browns (Include - Starz Street by Siphon (BRZ)), and Sky's Legacy (Dixie Union - Sky Select by Sky Mesa). They weren't exactly setting speed records, with a quarter in :24.24 and a half in :49.24. Original Script continued to lead. Shi Shi Foo Foo had no more left, as Tizgone moved into second. She moved within a length of Original Script, but that filly spurted away again, and went on to win by 8 easy lengths. Tizgone was second, Include the Browns third, Sky's Legacy fourth, and Shi Shi Foo Foo completed the field. Watch the Replay.

Tie Dyed Victory

The turf was good. Bricks and Clicks (Belgravia - Maggies Storm by Stormy Atlantic) and Flotilla (Mizzen Mast - Helstra by Nureyev) were scratched from the main field, and the MTOs were also left out. Tie Dye (Hard Spun - Fruhl's Gold by Crafty Prospector) was the early favorite, but Girl Code (Teuflesberg - Code Satan by Lost Code) was the slight choice at post time. Never Touch a Star (Henrythenavigator - Mekko Hokte by Holy Bull) was 9-2. I was liking Channel of Gold (Bernardini - Cross Channel by Giant's Causeway) a bit. Girl Code was a little rambunctious as they came onto the track. Tie Dye was a little obstinate at the load, and Channel of Gold hesitated as well. How Cheeky (Mr. Greeley - Barbette by High Yield) was pinched back at the start, and Tokyo Time (Medaglia d'Oro - Flying Passage by A. P. Indy) was a little slow to begin. Never Touch a Star went for the lead with Tie Dye. The latter horse used the advantage of his inside post to snag it. Never Touch a Star took up the chase from second. Girl Code and Channel of Gold were just behind. Never Touch a Star had to steady, and retreated to the back, finishing last. Tie Dye continued to lead, but Girl Code, Wine Burglar (Rock Hard Ten - Bluegrass Sara by Tabasco Cat), and Switchboard (Bernardini - High Speed Access by Kingmambo) were all coming. Tie Dye held them all off, however, winning by a head. It was even closer for second, with Wine Burglar just a nose better than Girl Code. Switchboard settled for fourth, a 3/4 length back. A Successful Home Journey

All eleven ran on the fast track. Sophie's Secret (Belong to Me - Move Smartly by Star of the Crop) was favored. Another Flashback (Curlin - Flashy by Wild Again) was 4-1. She looked good on the track. I was liking Cayton (Tribal Rule - Free Spending Kim by Fargo) a bit, but favorite Sophie's Secret also made a good impression. At the load, Jeanne Marini (Marino Marini - Kiss Me Not by Deputy Minister) planted her feet and did not want to go in. They finally persuaded her. Jeanne Marini, Sophie's Secret, Home Journey (Good Journey - Goodtobehome by Came Home), and Global Warming (Stormin Fever - Alashir's World by Spinning World) were involved early. There was a generous amount of bumping going on behind these. Home Journey went on to set the pace, with Sophie's Secret and Jeanne Marini chasing. The top two began to separate from the others. It looked as though favorite Sophie's Secret would catch her rival, but Home Journey kept going. She crossed the line 1 1/2 lengths in front. Sophie's Secret was 3 3/4 lengths in front of Global Warning, who took third, with Boller Bomb (Unusual Heat - Ligacao Direta (BRZ) by Minstrel Glory) and Cayton separated by a nose in fourth and fifth. Another Flashback was mid-pack early, but weakened and finished 8th. Watch the Replay.
