It's All Evolutionary

All eleven ran on the fast track. Evolutionary (Curlin - Gilded Wings by Gilded Times) was the clear favorite. She made a good appearance. I was liking Majestic Chick (Majestic Warrior - Express Chick by Hennessy) and In Plain Sight (Brother Derek - Casanova Striker by Smart Strike) on the track. There was a scramble for the early lead. Taralicious (Street Boss - Sammy Van Ammy by Van Nistelrooy) emerged with it, but Full Spectrum (Rush Bay - Sealth by Forestry) was right with her. Also up there early were Majestic Chick and Makeshift (Too Much Bling - Red Cell by Geri). Evolutionary was not far off this leading group, and she began moving between rivals. Taralicious took a clear lead in the stretch, but Evolutionary was coming on the outside. She surged on by the pacesetter for a length victory. Taralicious had enough left to take second, holding off a closing In Plain Sight. Magic Union (Dixie Union - Magic Peak by Pleasant Colony) was also running late for fourth. Evolutionary is winner number nine for Curlin. Watch the Replay.

Disarmed

Trice Up (Stormello - Wear Blush by Congaree) was the only scratch, and the track was fast. Disarm (City Street - Detonate by Salt Lake) was the even-money choice. Brenda's Bar (Midnight Lute - Les Cocos by Honour and Glory) was 33-1. Cuatrero (Awesome Gambler - Tudeludelu by Swiss Yodeler) had an equipment check just before loading. He then was off slowly. Brenda's Bar also did not get off to the best beginning. Disarm went to the front. He had company from Beau Diablo (Bedford Falls - Asuraslew by Slewdledo) and Mine Fever (Stormin Fever - Lavender Mine by Mr. Prospector). Disarm shook free from these, and built up a several length lead. Greeley Awesome (Mr. Greeley - Dattts Awesome by Awesome Again) came running to make a race out of it. But, he couldn't catch Disarm, who came home a length in front. Greeley Awesome was more then 8 in front of Beau Diablo, who was a clear third over Salah Champ (Benchmark - Morell's Love by Cutlass Reality). Brenda's Bar never really got going after his tardy start, finishing 5th. Watch the Replay.

The Winning Cause

Hip Four Sixtynine (Southern Image - Gentle Wave by Mt. Livermore) was scratched, leaving 9 to run. Asunder (Stormy Atlantic - Love and Marry by Known Fact) was the tepid favorite. Senioritis (Big Brown - She's a Lively One by Lively One) was 58-1. Marchman (Sharp Humor - Sookie Sookie by Indian Charlie) and Oxbow (Awesome Again - Tizamazing by Cee's Tizzy) mixed it up early. They were tracked by Sidekick (Street Sense - Softly by Binalong), Blue Blade (Bluegrass Cat - Well Revered by Red Ransom), and Yo Blue (Johannesburg - Sparkling Blue by Smoke Glacken). Marchman and Oxbow continued to battle, as Winning Cause (Giant's Causeway - Raffishing Look by Kingmambo) began to come to life on the outside. He made more and more progress as the race continued. Also getting involved was Asunder. Marchman was stubborn on the front, but Winning Cause gradually wore him down, pulling away for a 1 3/4 length win. It was more than 4 back to favorite Asunder in third, with Oxbow and Sidekick finishing together in 4th and 5th. Senioritis didn't show much, beating only a tired Blue Blade. Watch the Replay.
