Shakin It Up

All five ran on the fast track. Caballo Del Cielo (Songandaprayer - Queen Majesty by Regal Classic) was favored by a few ticks over Shakin It Up (Midnight Lute - Silver Bullet Moon by Vindication). Wine List (Giant's Causeway - Comeon Dixie by Mr. Greeley) was a little unsettled on the track. Favorite Caballo Del Cielo looked good, but Shakin It Up, who was adding blinkers, looked ready. Wine List was a bit reluctant to load. The start was even, but Shakin It Up dropped to the back. Manando (Bluegrass Cat - Mesmerizing Lady by Unbridled's Song) went to the lead. He was chased by Mr. Sexy (Unbridled's Song - Bully Bones by Hesabull) and Caballo Del Cielo. Mr. Sexy couldn't keep up, leaving Manado and Caballo Del Cielo to duel. Shakin It Up started to get going as they entered the stretch, but he was still 4 lengths back. He uncorked a goosebump inducing run, rolling by the pacesetters with ease. He went on to post a 4 1/2 length win. It was a short field, but Shakin It Up certainly looks like the real deal. Watch the Replay.

Of Shakin It Up, you say, "uncorked a goose bump inducing run, rolling by the pacesetters with ease."  Does that sound like his sire, or what?  I still say Midnight Lute is potentially one of the best sires out there, if he gets enough of the right mares.  Brilliant top-end speed on two different kinds of surface, but with route in his pedigree.  Would send Zenyatta to him in a heart beat (as well as to Awesome Again).
