A Secret Overcomes the Middle
Sarach (Arch - Eximius (GB) by Atticus) and Exchange Student (Exchange Rate - Waquoit's Love by Not For Love) were scratched. The turf was firm. Secret Motive (Macho Uno - Sweet Citrus by Lemon Drop Kid) was favored, Having Abig Middle (Big Brown - Lady On Holiday by Harlan's Holiday) was 10-1. Having Abig Middle went right to the front. She was chased early by Sharp Bella (Sharp Humor - Bella Volare by Flying Continental) and Secret Motive. These three separated a bit from the others, who were led by Hard Buns (Rock Hard Ten - Steel Buns by A.P. Indy) and Maddog Maddie (Tribal Rule - Shay by Incinderator). Sharp Bella moved closer to apply pressure to Having Abig Middle, but Having Abig Middle shook free from Sharp Bella. However, Secret Motive was making her run, and also starting to roll was Topic (Discreet Cat - Quiet Maggy by Quiet American). Having Abig Middle continued to lead, but Secret Motive was advancing steadily. She wore down her rival, and finished a neck in front. However, it was a much improved effort from Having Abig Middle, who showed that turf might be her thing. Topic finished well for third, and Maddog Maddie took fourth. Watch the Replay.
