Quite a Reward

Midnightinpositano (Midnight Lute - Janeian (NZ) by The Jogger) was scratched, as well as Samsonian (Broken Vow - Miss Louisiana by Miswaki), AE entrant Easter Child (Repent - Christmas List by Out of Place), and the MTOs High Inflation (Touch Gold - Unreined by Unbridled) and Guyana Star (A. P. Warrior - Bries Golden Girl by Geiger Counter). Justcallmemoni (Exchange Rate - Ever Lasting by General Assembly) was favored, but Melody Lin (Curlin - Melody Que (IRE) by Sadler's Wells) was also well-respected at 3-1. She looked good in the prelims. I was also liking Mlle Margaux (Suave - Mlle. de Paris by Silver Charm) a bit. The turf was good. West Side Glory (Bernstein - Lillians Choice by Cape Canaveral) stumbled a bit at the start, but went after the lead, along with Justcallmemoni and It Was All a Dream (Silver Train - Our Lady T by Ruhlman). West Side Glory grabbed the advantage, and moved over to the rail. She spurted away from her rivals, moving four to five lengths clear. Justcallmemoni and It Was All a Dream were the closest pursuers. Melody Lin began to make up ground on the inside, but West Side Glory still had a big lead. Starting to get involved was My Four Rewards (Grand Reward - Aunt Teree by Skip Away). As they moved into the stretch, West Side Glory was still in front, but her lead had diminished. Melody Lin and My Four Rewards were both closely well, and rolled by the pacesetter. It was 70-1 My Four Rewards outfinishing Melody Lin for the win. A tired West Side Glory held third over Mlle Margaux with Bacheliere (Include - Golden Party by Seeking the Gold) and Justcallmemoni taking 5th and 6th. Watch the Replay.

Thank you Bloodhorse for your foal coverage of Afleet Again and capturing news and races about him. To Mr. Choi, please take good care of Afleet Again in Korea, you have a very special son of Afleet Alex and there is an angel of good fortune on his shoulder. Love you Afleet Again for how you tried so hard on the racetrack. Alex Scott will protect you in Korea so far from the Kentucky rails.  Fran
