Little Jerry Big Over Curly Top

R S Watson (Zanjero - Kat Can Dance by Miesque's Son) was scratched, leaving 8 on the Cushion Track. Inflamed Spirit (Heatseeker (IRE) - Bronze Autumn by Mr. Greeley) was favored, and Curly Top (Curlin - Top Notch Lady by Sultry Song) was almost 8-1. Inflamed Spirit went to the front, with I'm Wide Awake (Exchange Rate - Maliziosa by Dynaformer), Dr. Spin (Bernstein - Spin Control by A.P. Indy), and Forest Boy (Forestry - Belvedere Miss by Pleasant Colony) showing speed. Curly Top was off slowly, and Little Jerry (Candy Ride (ARG) - Missannalouise by Storm Creek) was off even slower. Inflamed Spirit continued on top, chased by I'm Wide Awake. Curly Top was beginning to make up a few spots. Inflamed Spirit and I'm Wide Awake were still 1-2 as they moved into the turn, but the others were gaining. Forest Boy (Forestry - Belvedere Miss by Pleasant Colony) took the lead into the stretch, but Persuasive Paul, Curly Top, and Little Jerry surrounded him and moved on by. It was Little Jerry who was traveling best, getting the victory by a neck over Curly Top, with Persuasive Paul another 1/2 length back in third. Yes, the leaders were tiring, but that was some kind of closing kick from Little Jerry, and a nice effort from Curly Top also, as first-time runners went 1-2. Watch the Replay.

Narvez is Succesful

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Succesful Brothers (Invasor (ARG) - Contagious (GB) by Polar Falcon) was favored, but Jay Eye See (Curlin - England's Rose by Nureyev) received plenty of attention at 2-1. Callmeback (Put It Back - Herecomesacat by Storm Creek) took advantage of his rail position to grab the early lead. Narvaez (Holy Bull - Miss Lulu by Unbridled), Jay Eye See, and Rontos' Dream (Johannesburg - Schism by Pulpit) were showing speed as well. Callmeback and Narvaez continued 1-2, with Jay Eye See and Succesful Brothers in the next pair. Narvaez hit the front in the stretch. Jay Eye See and Succesful Brother were coming on the outside, and Rickashea (Elusive Quality - Rachel's Star by Seeking the Gold) joined in the fun on the rail. But, 42-1 Narvaez continued to hold them all off, winning by 1 1/2 lengths. Succesful Brothers outfinished Jay Eye See, who had to settle for third, but it was another good effort from that colt. There was a scramble for the early lead, with Absolute Beauty emerging with it. She was accompanied by Madison Ave. Jo Jo (Utopia (JPN) - Smart Hat by Ascot Knight) on the inside, and by Roses for Romney on the outside. Watching this three-way battle was Ah Gaga (Utopia (JPN) - Classic Example by Maria's Mon). Madison Ave. Jo Jo began to lose ground after a half, but Absolute Beauty and Roses for Romney continued to tangle. Ah Gaga was still there, and Stellerite (Freud - J's Happy Holiday by Polish Pro) and Unbelievable Dream (Kitalpha - A Perfect Weekend by Stephen Got Even) began to come to life. Unbelievable Dream was moving best, and she swept to the lead, winning by 3 lengths. Sayler's Creek Runs Over

Order of Magnitude (Henrythenavigator - Jewel Princess by Key to the Mint) was scratched, as well as Indy Awesome (A.P. AE entrants Sayler's Creek (Bernstein - Postulant by Pulpit) and Fightertown (Afleet Alex - Stonestreet Lady by Sky Mesa) got to run. For Greater Glory (Afleet Alex - Lady's Touch by Touch Gold) was favored, and Late Night Lu (Midnight Lute - Luhoo by Luhuk) was 90-1. The track was fast. Everyone was off well, except for Late Night Lu, who broke in the air and gave the others a head start. New Line (First Defence - Introducing by Deputy Minister) and I Do Believe (Flashy Bull - Storm Teal by Storm Bird) were off best, but they were soon joined, and passed by For Greater Glory (Afleet Alex - Lady's Touch by Touch Gold) and Marchman (Sharp Humor - Sookie Sookie by Indian Charlie). Then, Brazilian Court (Harlan's Holiday - Devotedness by Anet) came on, as I Do Believe began to retreat. Marchman and For Greater Glory took turns leading, with New Line keeping pace, and Brazilian Court just off of these. Coming on from the back were Sayler's Creek and Golden Soul (Perfect Soul (IRE) - Hollywood Gold by Mr. Prospector). They went by the pacesetter, and finished as a team, with Sayler's Creek getting the win by a head. Three and three-quarter lengths back, just a nose separated For Greater Glory and New Line in third and fourth, with Marchman taking fifth. Late Night Lu finished 7th, which was not a bad effort considering his beginning. Watch the Replay.
