Paciencia Y Fe (Midnight Lute - Tarnished Halo by Wild Again) was scratched from Race 3 at Churchill Downs on Wednesday. The winner was Corso's Law (Lawyer Ron - Isn't It True by Is It True), who was involved from the beginning, and drew off to win by 2 1/2 lengths. Watch the Replay.

We have no Maiden Watch horses in Maiden Special Weight Races on Thursday, so I'll preview a couple of races for Friday and not post another blog until Friday night. We do have a stakes entry for Thanksgiving, however, as Shakin It Up runs in the Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. II) (see below).

Stakes Entry

Shakin It Up (colt; Midnight Lute - Silver Bullet Moon by Vindication) faces 4 in the Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. III) at Hollywood Park. Post time is 2:00 PM ET, and he has drawn the 2 hole. Shakin It Up has run twice, finishing 2nd at 7 furlongs on October 7, and winning a 6 furlong race on October 27. Both of those races were at Santa Anita. He last worked on November 17, going 4 furlongs in :48.40 at Santa Anita. Shakin It Up is the second foal out of the unraced mare Silver Bullet Moon, whose first foal is the winner Sir Allison. Sir Allison was placed at 2. Silver Bullet Moon is a half sister to stakes-placed Tice, who earned $177,405. She is also a half sister to the Midnight Lute 2-year-old filly Illicit Affair. Silver Bullet Moon's dam is the great Silverbulletday, a grade I winner, who earned $3,093,207. Silverbulletday won 6 of 7 races at 2, and was named 1998 Champion 2-year-old filly. She was also Champion 3-year-old filly in 1999, when her wins included the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I). Bob Baffert trains four horses in the Hollywood Prevue, including Shakin It Up, and Super Ninety Nine, who defeated Shakin It Up on October 7, and was scheduled to run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint, before being scratched the morning of the race. Chongo Verdi (colt; The Green Monkey - Tiz Spanish by Tiznow) breaks from the rail in Race 3 at Calder, a 6 furlong Starter Allowance. Post time is 12:03 PM ET. Chongo Verdi broke his maiden in his fifth start, a 5.5 furlong Maiden Claiming Race on September 30, where he won by 12 3/4 lengths. He then finished 3rd in a 5.5 furlong Starter Allowance Race on a sloppy track on October 26, after dueling for the lead. All of his races have been at Calder. Chongo Verdi is the second foal out of Tiz Spanish, who was placed at 2. Tiz Spanish is a half sister to grade III winners Wonder Love and Free of Love, who earned $562,420. 

Classy and Serene (filly; The Green Monkey - Time for Jackie by Unbridled Time) runs in Race 4 at Calder, a 5.5 furlong Maiden Claiming Race (Claiming Price $12,500). Post time is 12:33 PM, and she is in post 1. Classy and Serene has run three times, finishing 6th on September 28, 6th on October 14, and 4th on November 9. All three starts were at 5.5 furlongs in Maiden Claimng Races at Calder. Classy and Serene is the first foal out of the winning mare Time for Jackie, who was placed at 2. Time for Jackie is a full sister to one winner, and a half sister to one winner. The Green Monkey's 13 runners have made 39 total starts, recording 5 wins, 7 seconds, 4 thirds, and earnings of $137,952.

He had previously finished 6th at 6 furlongs at Belmont on September 15. Kenalantic is out of stakes winner Kenathena, who won the Tah Dah Stakes at 2. Kenathena has produced 6 winners, one of which won at 2. She is a half sister to 8 winners, including two stakes-placed winners.

AE entrant Papadopalous (Mutakddim - Essa Brilha (BRZ) by Roi Normand), Efficient Market (Tapit - Salty Response by Cozzene), and Rapid Burn (Bernstein - She's Mahogany by Woodman) finished 2nd, 4th, and 7th in a 7 furlong race over good turf at Belmont Park on October 14. It was the only start for all three. Papadopalous is a half brother to 2 winners, including one who was a winner on the turf at 2.
