Padilla Did the Roar

Bloodfire (Forestry - Gone Musical by Gone West) was the only scratch, and the track was fast. Shenandoah Bound (Gottcha Gold - Wildcat Widow by Forest Wildcat) was favored, and Valerie'sgreenjet (The Green Monkey - Miss Vermont Jet by Vermont) was 13-1. Third Choice was First

All 6 ran on the fast track. O T B Bob (Full Mandate - Smoke Granted by Smoke Glacken), who was getting blinkers off, was the heavy favorite. Preponderate (Big Brown - Santaria by Star de Naskra), who was adding blinkers was 13-1. He looked good in the paddock. Firster Speedyberg (Johannesburg - Stateliness by Silver Deputy) had a little spunk. O T B Bob looked like a man amongst boys in the post parade. Third Choice (Bandini - Final Flag by Northern Flagship) broke on top, with most of the field chasing. Preponderate was a little slow, and trailed. Third Choice began to get away from the others, building up a 4 length lead. O T B Bob came on to put a dent in the margin, but he couldn't catch Third Choice, who scored an easy 1 1/2 length win. Three lengths behind O T B Bob came Ethelred (Afleet Alex - Miss Special Salsa by Mr. Greeley), with a big gap to the rest, Preponderate, Speedyberg, and No Calcetines (Metfield - Twirladance by Ricther Scale). Midnight Memories (Midnight Lute - Lucette by Dayjur) was 14-1, but he took some early money. Swig It (Tapit - Swigert by Fusaichi Pegasus) was an eye-catcher in the paddock, and I was liking Ore Pass (War Pass - Wisconsin Lady by Stephen Got Even). Ore Pass outbroke the field, and went to the lead. He was chased by Four Pillars (Tale of the Cat - Darling Temper by Point Given) and Black Forest (Monarchos - Forest Secrets by Forest Wildcat) early, and then Swig It moved closer. Athabaskan Hero (Cherokee's Boy - Pretty Princess by Partner's Hero) made an early move, taking over second. Ore Pass continued on an easy lead.
