Get Busy Livin

Hotlander (Roll Hennessy Roll - Partyband by Chimes Band) was scratched, and the track was fast for the rest of them. Get Busy Livin (Big Brown - Look Out Lorie by Orientate) was the even-money favorite. Turning Tables (Eurosilver - Ecstasy Lady by Blare of Trumpets) took the early lead, pursued by a tight pack which included Hola Wild Cat (Ministers Wild Cat - Spanish Lights by El Prado (IRE)), Juan's Corazonsito (Bob and John - Heart a Bustin by Caveat), Waldo (Rockport Harbor - Dixie Time by Dixieland Band), and Get Busy Livin. Get Busy Livin emerged from the pack, and set after Turning Tables while running wide. He caught that opponent at the eighth pole and pulled away, streaking home 4 1/2 lengths in front.

Smartyfly Outfoxes the Grey

All nine ran on the Polytrack. Smartyfly (Smart Strike - Scarlet Butterfly by Theatrical (IRE)) was favored by just a few ticks over One Foxy Grey (Big Brown - Irish Smoke by Smoke Glacken). Ellsmere Island (Midinight Lute - Water Music by Danzig) was 64-1. There was a bit of a tussle for the early lead, but Hearty Laugh (Distorted Humor - Justenuffheart by Broad Brush) soon sprinted away from her rivals to set the pace. There was a gap back to the others, who were led by Fifth Dimension (Distorted Humor - Fifth Overture by Pulpit) and Green Waters (Arch - Countervail by Seeking the Gold). One Foxy Grey and Ellsmere Island were both near the back early. The well-bunched field began to catch Hearty Laugh after a half mile. One Foxy Grey, Tonight We Dance (Pleasant Tap - Vaganova by Nureyev), and Diamondesque (Any Given Saturday - Flawless Diamond by Saint Ballado) swarmed on Hearty Laugh. One Foxy Grey took the lead, but Smartyfly was starting to gain ground. One Foxy Grey fought to the wire, but she was overtaken late by Smartyfly, who won it by a head. It was more than 5 lengths back to third-place Takeyourbreathaway (Tiznow - Gdanska by Danzig). Ellsmere Island passed a couple of tired ones to finish 7th. Watch the Replay.

Jerry'shoneycarol Takes Another Flashback

There were no scratches. The Tapeta was fast as usual, but it all was shrouded in fog. Jerry'shoneycarol (Bluegrass Cat - Lucky Soph by Cozzene) was favored, and Another Flashback (Curlin - Flashy by Wild Again) was 5-2. Another Flashback broke in front, but Rebecca's Surprise (Marino Marini - Violet Brook by Montbrook) was on top as they ran into the fog, with Jerry'shoneycarol and Another Flashback close. When they emerged from the pea soup, Rebecca's Surprise was just in front of Jerry'shoneycarol, and they were several lengths ahead of Another Flashback. They entered another patch of fog, just as Another Flashback began to gain. As they moved into the stretch, Jerry'shoneycarol finally got by Rebecca's Surprise, but Another Flashback was coming. Jerry'shoneycarol held her off, however, coming home a head in front. Another Flashback was more than 2 in front of Rebecca's Surprise, who was followed by Une Amour (Singletary - M'Love by Mi Cielo), Perfect Nodouble (Perfect Soul (IRE) - Classic Slew by Seattle Slew), and Silky Lace (Bernardini - Silk Thunder by Silver Deputy). Watch the Replay.

The winner was Sky High Gal (Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) - Shahrazad Sky by Sky Classic). Watch the Replay.

Silver Morgan is Golden

Super Louie (Louis Quatorze - Formal Fanny by Formal Dinner) was scratched. The track was fast for the remaining 6. The entry of Silver Morgan (J Be K - Stylish Talent by Forty Niner) and Patrick S (Put It Back - Bye Bye Katie Pie by Robyn Dancer) was favored. Game Effort (Midnight Lute - Glory Lane by Unbridled's Song) was just under 2-1. Patrick S went to the lead, with Do It for Fun (Langfuhr - For Fun by Not For Love) up with him. Revocation (Broken Vow - Datttsdawayilikeit by Forestry) had a good spot on the outside in third. Silver Morgan stumbled a bit at the break, and was at the back. But, he soon recovered, and was making up ground on the inside. Patrick S continued to lead, but Silver Morgan was coming. These two dueled until late, with Silver Morgan drawing away late for a 1 length win. Revocation was moving well late, finishing just a neck behind Patrick S. Although he was no threat to the top trio, Game Effort was moving along well late to pick up fourth. Hopefully, he'll get more distance next time. Silver Morgan is the 7th winner for J Be K.
