It was an Act of Madness

The turf was firm, and only AE entrant Edson's Ridge (Thunder Gulch - Just in Passing by Smoke Glacken) was left out. Mizzen the Cookies (Mizzen Mast - Chocolate Chip by Orientate) was favored. The Golden Monkey (The Green Monkey - Golden Anklet by Menifee) opened at 99-1, and was almost 20-1 at post time. Decisive David (Sunriver - Super Deelites by Afternoon Deelites) made a favorable impression, and first-timer Divine Michael (Lewis Michael - Marge S by Chester House) looked good on the track. The Golden Monkey got a strong warmup. Rey Rocket (Rey de Cafe - Majestic Mood by Becker) got a blanket for the load, and broke running going for the lead with Act of Madness (Act of Duty - Touch of Madness by Sword Dance (IRE)). The Golden Monkey was very wide, about mid-pack. Act of Madness was just in front of Rey Rocket. The Golden Monkey moved up a bit, still wide, but then suddenly dropped back. He ended up at the back of the field. Narwhal (Wildcat Heir - Secret Love (ARG) by Serevac) and Mizzen the Cookies both began to move. Narwhal couldn't sustain his bid, but Mizzen the Cookies perservered. He couldn't catch Act of Madness, however, who had the jump and won by 3/4 length. Mizzen the Cookies was well-clear of Decisive David in third, and Rey Rocket weakened to 4th. Watch the Replay.
