An Awesome Victory

There were no scratches, and it was raining. Greeley Awesome (Mr. Greeley - Dattts Awesome by Awesome Again) was favored, and he looked good. Brenda's Bar (Midnight Lute - Les Cocos by Honour and Glory) was 16-1. He made a decent impression on the track. Louisthefifteenth (Sun King - Wide Open Canvas by General Meeting) had some pep, and Derekson (Brother Derek - Tiz Tutta by Tiznow) looked nice. The start was good. Derekson went to the lead, with Greeley Awesome after him, and Louisthefifteenth in third. Brenda's Bar was in a tight spot, and had to steady several times. He did recover to move into fourth. Greeley Awesome moved to the lead after a half, and Bro Derek (Brother Derek - Pocho's Dream Girl by Fortunate Prospect) started making up some ground. Greeley Awesome began to pull away in the stretch, and then moved farther and farther in front. He crossed the line more than 9 in front of the others, despite ducking in late. Louisthefifteenth got by Derekson late for second, with Bro Derek in fourth, followed by Brenda's Bar, Happiest Together (McCann's Mojave - So Happy Together by Corslew), and California Dream (Decarchy - Tiara Glow by Chief's Crown).
