A Winning Vision

All six ran on the fast track. Deceptive Vision (A.P. Indy - Eye of the Sphynx by Smart Strike) was favored. Blue Violet (Curlin - Gasia by Silver Deputy) was 2-1, and Midnight Flute (Midnight Lute - Battle Search by Regal Search) was 13-1. Tizexx (Speightstown - Tizsweet by Cee's Tizzy) came out running to take the early lead. Cora Mesa (Sky Mesa - Old Fashion Girl by Arch) was second early, with Deceptive Vision up close as well. Overall, it was a pretty tight pack. Cora Mesa made the first move, poking her head in front of Tizexx as they went into the turn. But looming on the outside was Deceptive Vision. Blue Violet also began to make up ground from her rail position. Cora Mesa still had the lead when they entered the stretch, but Deceptive Vision was coming, and she eased on by for a 3 1/4 length win. Blue Violet wore down Cora Mesa to take second, but she was no threat to the winner. Midnight Flute came home in 6th. Watch the Replay.
