Amen

The turf was firm, and only the AEs were left out. Amen Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Crumbs of Comfort by Pulpit) was the 2-1 favorite. Trumpeter Swan (Midnight Lute - School for Scandal by Is It True) was 46-1. Happy Runner (Giant's Causeway - Follow by Seeking the Gold) was left at the break. Callmeback (Put It Back - Herecomesacat by Storm Creek) broke on top, but Shenandoah Bound (Gottcha Gold - Wildcat Widow by Forest Wildcat) took advantage of his inside position to snag the lead. He was soon several lengths in front, with Callmeback in pursuit. Lotta Heat (Lion Heart - Fonce De (FR) by Smadoun (FR)) made an early move, going by Shenandoah Bound to be the new leader. Callmeback overtook Shanandoah Bound as well, to reclaim second. Amen Kitten was beginning to rally, but had some ground to make up. Lotta Heat continued to show the way, with Amen Kitten eating up ground. As they entered the stretch, Lotta Heat still had the advantage, but Amen Kitten was coming. At the wire, Amen Kitten was a neck in front of Lotta Heat. This pair was almost 7 lengths in front of the others, who were led by Make It Gold (Badge of Silver - Thesky'sthelimit by Northern Prospect) and Music Critik (Unbridled's Song - Critikal Reason by Aptitude). Trumpeter Swan was near the back for most of the race, but he did do some running late to finish 6th. Watch the Replay.
