Showing Power

All six ran on the fast track. Forward Thinker (Indian Charlie - Initiation by Deputy Minister) was the favorite, with Country Lyric (Stephen Got Even - Caramel Custard by Chief Honcho) also well-respected. Preponderate (Big Brown - Santaria by Star de Naskra) was 18-1. Country Lyric broke on top. Balance of Power (Silver Train - Woodman's Dancer by Woodman) and Forward Thinker were in pursuit, with Preponderate and Above the Bar (Majestic Warrior - Thundercup by Thunder Gulch) next, and Chasing the Roses (Bernardini - Goodness by Hennessy) trailing. Country Lyric continued to lead, chased by Balance of Power and Forward Thinker. Balance of Power moved even with Country Lyic on the turn, but the latter horse pulled free again. Balance of Power was not going away, however, and kept coming and coming, and got up by a neck. It was a long way (12 lengths) back to Chasing the Roses in third, followed by Forward Thinker, Above the Bar, and Preponderate. Watch the Replay.
