A Transparent Victory

The track was fast, and there were no scratches. Transparent (Bernardini - Habiboo by Unbridled's Song) was the heavy favorite. Inmyfathersimage (Curlin - Friendly Michelle by Artax) was 6-1. The start was fairly good, although Start Jumping (Jump Start - Rootintootinnany by Kris S.) was off a beat slowly. Able Baker Charlie (Indian Charlie - Plaid by Deputy Commander) went to the front, with Bolt Action (First Defence - Heard It Before by Pulpit) and Transparent also close. Suddenly Able Baker Charlie bore out, causing Bolt Action to steady, and both he and Transparent ended up in the middle of the track, along with Bolt Action. Start Jumping inherited the lead after that trouble, with Hoppy Do (Touch Gold - Skip Queen by Skip Away) and Inmyfathersimage up close. Transparent was able to get back in the race, and ranged up on the outside. Inmyfathersimage held a brief lead, but he had no answer for Transparent, who rolled on by, winning by 5 3/4 lengths. Inmyfathersimage was another 5 1/2 lengths in front of the others, who were led by Buddy's Tiz (Tiznow - Caroline's Gold by Touch Gold) and Start Jumping. Bolt Action finished 5th after his eventful trip, with Hoppy Do 6th, and Able Baker Charlie 7th. Watch the Replay.

Close the Hatches

All 11 ran on the fast track. Gadget Girl (More Than Ready - Rough Water by Stormin Fever) was the lukewarm favorite, with Close Hatches (First Defence - Rising Tornado by Storm Cat), and One Foxy Grey (Big Brown - Irish Smoke by Smoke Glacken) also received attention. Bella Castani (Big Brown - Caroni by Rubiano) was 21-1. The start was fair, although Including (Include - Doolittle by Polish Numbers) appeared to lose ground immediately. Flak (Malibu Moon - Stormy Squall by Summer Squall) broke on top, but Gadget Girl and One Foxy Grey overtook her. Bella Castani was also up close early. Gadget Girl continued to lead, pestered by One Foxy Grey and Flak. Sister State (A.P. Indy - Well Related by Quiet American) was beginning to make up ground, and Bella Castani began to retreat. Making steady process on the outside was Close Hatches. She went by the leaders on the far turn, and pulled away to an impressive 7 length lead. Sister State and Gigglin' Gal (Consolidator - Humorous Gal by Distorted Humor) swept by the pacesetter as well, as Gadget Girl had to settle for fourth, and One Foxy Grey was fifth. Bella Castani was eased late, finishing 11th (last). Watch the Replay.

Riding to Win

The turf was good, and only the AEs were scratched. Anyriderill Do (Street Hero - E Looe by Lure) was favored. Lord of the Realm (Curlin - Danceroftherealm (GB) by King of Kings (IRE)) was 27-1, and Midnight Oil (Midnight Lute - Field of Glory by Meadowlake) was 72-1. Early Success (Badge of Silver - Surely Early by Yankee Victor) and Rupansu (Johannesburg - Sacred Sue by Holy Bull) battled early, with Anyriderill Do not far off. English Pound (English Channel - Andover the Money by Dynaformer) made an early move to get involved. Rupansu held the lead as they went into the stretch, but Anyriderill Do was closely stoutly. He went by for a 2 1/4 length win. English Pound got his neck in front of Rupansu for second, and Quittin Time (Scat Daddy - Napili Bay by Katahaula County) let the rest in fourth. Midnight Oil and Lord of the Realm were both slow to start, and finished a length apart in 7th and 8th. This was not a race for first-timers, as they accounted for the last 4 spots in the race. He is Offlee Fast

The turf was firm, and only the Also-Eligibles were out. Federal Agent (Curlin - Gwenjinsky by Seattle Dancer) was the 5-2 favorite. Twining Hearts (Big Brown - Twining Star by Twining) was 14-1, and Trumpeter Swan (Midnight Lute - School for Scandal by Is It True) was 32-1. Offlee Fast (Offlee Wild - Etch by Pioneering) came out running to set the pace. But, he soon had company from Grey Oak (Exchange - Vintage Champagne by A.P. Indy), Overwhelming (Hard Spun - Oh What a Windfall by Seeking the Gold), and Start Up (Jump Start - Island Design by Chester House). Offlee Fast shook off these pursuers, building up a several length lead. Federal Agent gained some ground on the inside, and he and Overwhelming went up to mount a challenge on Offlee Fast. Also getting closer was Cowdray Park (Bernardini - Beautiful Pleasure by Maudlin). Offlee Fast continued on top, however. Cowdray Park moved into second, but he couldn't catch Offlee Fast, who won by 1 1/4 lengths. Flying for third was Timeless Indy (A.P. Indy - Border Dispute by Boundary), who just got him neck in front of Overwhelming. Federal Agent weakened to 6th. Trumpeter Swan and Twining Hearts both began slowly, and finished 7th and 9th.
