Getting the Money

The turf was firm, and only the AEs were left out. Ocean's of Money (Indian Ocean - Peggy's Lady by Diplomatic Jet) was favored, also getting play was Charm Catcher (Duke of Marmalade (IRE) - Olympic Charmer by Olympio). Mezzanotte (Midnight Lute - Bellastrega by Deputy Minister) was 60-1. The start was good. Ocean's of Money went right to the lead, with Villano (Rock Hard Ten - Campagnarde (ARG) by Oak Dancer (GB)) up with her. These two put some distance on the others early. Mezzanotte was about mid-pack on the outside. Ocean's of Money and Villano continued 1-2, as Charm Catcher and Paris Affair (Bernstein - Affair With Aflair by Well Decorated) gained a bit. Ocean's of Money left Villano behind as they crossed over the dirt. Charm Catcher ran after her, but Ocean's of Money had too much of a headstart, winning by 3 3/4 lengths. Charm Catcher was another 2 1/2 lengths better than Joeandbetty'sbaby (Yes It's True - A Flicker of Light by Flying Continental), who was finishing well to pick up third over Divine Tale (Tale of the Cat - Divina by Elusive Quality) and Paris Affair. Mezzanotte weakened throughout the stretch, defeating only early pace factor Villano. Despite Mezzanotte's end result, she does get some serious air time in the replay, as the last filly in the gate. Watch the Replay.

Love You Tomorrow had lots of pep as they headed to the track. Distinct Sparkle (With Distinction - Constant Sparkle by Mr. Sparkles) had her game face on. The start was even. Fairness broke on top, but was soon overtaken by Tragedy's Triumph (With Distinction - Apache Dancer by Alphabet Soup) and Let's Play Two. It was the latter filly who cleared the pack to lead them. Favorite Divine Happiness had a good spot in third, and Fairness was on the rail in fourth. Divine Happiness moved into second, and then took after the pacesetter. Divine Happiness rolled on by Let's Play Two as they entered the turn, and cruised home. She crossed the wire an easy 9 1/2 lengths in front.
