A Dead Heat for a Kitten and a Wondergirl

The track was fast. Ariel's Flyer (Rockport Harbor - Valid Annie by Valid Appeal) was scratched, allowing AE entrant Pearl de Vere (Songandaprayer - The Dove by Hawk Wing) to run. Regal Melody (Songandaprayer - Regal Approach by Thunder Gulch) was favored. Also taking money was Colorme Kitten (D'wildcat - Colormein by Mr. Greeley). Wee Rosa (Big Brown - Ometz by Deputy Commander) was 27-1. Follow Me Dot (Put It Back - Rush Note by Wild Rush) was left at the break, the others were away well. Cindy Cata (Cowtown Cat - Free Slam by Grand Slam) went to the lead. Backstairs Gossip (Graeme Hall - Sort of Tricky by Phone Trick) and Colorme Kitten set after her. These three continued to show the way. Making up some ground on the inside was Pearl de Vere. Cindy Cata continued to lead into the stretch, but Colorme Kitten was getting closer, and rolling on the outside was Elusive Wondergirl (Stevie Wonderboy - Elusive Flower by Harlan's Holiday). Colorme Kitten hit the front, but Elusive Wondergirl kept on coming. The camera couldn't separate them, it was a dead heat. Wee Rosa didn't do much running, finishing in 9th. Watch the Replay.
