Devilish Beast (Diabolical - Beauty Secret by Souvenir Copy) and Little Gold Dust (Quinton's Gold - Karonlittlediamond by Darn That Alarm) were scratched. Tornillo (Diabolical - Songs Say So Much by Yankee Gentleman) was favored, and Weeping Aly (Weeping Willow - Dancers Sister by Le Grande Danseur) took a little action. Cool Runin Spring (Your Eminence - Ocean Springs by Golden Act) broke inward. Weeping Aly came out a beat slow, and was then bumped by Tornillo. Tornillo was one of the first to show, however, along with Bobcat Ray (Tin Can Sailor - Hearts R Gona Roll by Bold Ego), Beaumont Time (Your Eminence - Tessa Time by Old Topper), and Fair Intent (Minister Eric - Apple Butter by Dixie Union). Fair Intent grabbed the lead. Tornillo was gaining, but he couldn't catch Fair Intent, who won by 3/4 length. Should Have Bet a Bundle

All eight ran on the Polytrack. Eyes Eyes Baby (Skip Away - Eye Slew the City by Slew City Slew) was the heavy favorite. Senioritis (Big Brown - She's a Lively One by Lively One) was almost 12-1. He had a lot of pep in the paddock. But, they were all feeling good. It must have been the snow. Firster Bet a Bundle (Point Given - Doubly Fun by I'll Raise You One) was ready. Eyes Eyes Baby looked a little heavy to me. Senioritis looked good in the warmup. Mickey Dan (Lewis Michael - Dancal (IRE) by Mujadil) came out of the gate awkwardly, giving the others a head start. Debuting Carters Gap (Freud - Catchy Patton by Patton) broke on top. Bet a Bundle and Eyes Eyes Baby set after him. Bet a Bundle moved even with Carters Gap, and these two went head and head. There was break to the next three, Eyes Eyes Baby, Senioritis, and Mickey Dan. In the stretch, Bet a Bundle took a clear lead. Both he and Carters Gap were green down the lane, but they were safely home. Bet a Bundle won it by 2 lengths, with Carters Gap another 2 lengths in front of favorite Eyes Eyes Baby, who had to settle for third. Senioritis finished 5th, just losing 4th late. Honduran Gone

Doubledown Again (Rockport Harbor - Silvery Star by Silver Deputy), Banzai Kid (Cowtown Cat - Wings of Desire by Polish Numbers), and Bobo (Council Member - Bella Queen by Olympio) were scratched, and AE entrant Saint X. (Tiznow - Flaming Heart by Touch Gold) got to run. The track was fast. To the Stars (Street Sense - Fly to the Stars by Giant's Causeway) was the lukewarm favorite. Dyker Beach (Curlin - Favorite Feather by Capote) was 5-1, and Won'tualwayswonder (Midnight Lute - Bountempo by Cape Town) was almost 16-1. Saint X. went to the lead. Dyker Beach had to check soon after the start, and plunged to the back. Saint X. soon had company up front, with Cost Affective (Officer - Quick to Please by Danzig) and Doc Cebu (Hard Spun -Berga by Jade Hunter) the closest. Saint X. continued to show the way, but the pack was getting thicker, with Honduran (Macho Uno - Marimba Rhythm by Golden Missile) coming up the inside. He moved into third, but his progress was halted by Cost Effective. This allowed Dance for Cole (Philanthropist - Dance for Olga by Ascot Knight) to grab third. Also getting involved was Speechmaker (Tiznow - My Trusty Cat by Tale of the Cat). Honduran came on again. This time, he went outside, and rolled on by Saint X. to win by 5 lengths. Won'tualwayswonder finished well to pick up third, with Speechmaker fourth. Dyker Beach never really recovered from checking early on, finishing 7th. Watch the Replay.

The Art of Winning

Barn Knee (Kitalpha - Frost Flower (IRE) by Sadler's Wells) was scratched, and the track was fast. Moon Back More (Fusaichi Pegasus - Girls Pearls by Talk Is Money) was favored, and Order of Magnitude (Henrythenavigator - Jewel Princess by Key to the Mint) was 36-1. Vows in Houston (Broken Vow - Jetinto Houston by Houston) broke on top, with Common Ground (Pure Prize - Beloved by All by Rubiano) after him. Only in America (Tiznow - Well Dressed by Notebook) came up the inside to challenge Vows in Houston. Candy Champ (Candy Ride (ARG) - Champagne Miss by Aldebaran) was up there too, but was very rank. Royal Art (Afleet Alex - Prall Street by Cherokee Run) was in a good spot on the rail, just off the leaders, and began moving up. Only in America led the way. Vows in Houston began to retreat, and Royal Art began his challenge in earnest. He moved even with Only in America, but that rival continued to battle. These two ran the length of the stretch together, with Royal Art taking the race by a nose. It was more than 5 lengths back to the others, who were led by Stone Crazy (Monarchos - Causeway Lady by Giant's Causeway) and Tiz Adonis (Tiz Wonderful - Romantic Pro by Distinctive Pro). Order of Magnitude was no threat, finishing 7th. Watch the Replay.

The track was fast for the twelve. Bad Behavior (Midnight Lute - Behaving Badly by Pioneering) was the 5-2 favorite. Bad Behavior, Summer Exclusive (Exclusive Quality - Summer Dream by Wild Rush), Bench Press (Brother Derek - Try a Gator Girl by Copelan), and Wine Stock (Johannesburg - Shine Forth by Carson City) were among those in the chasing group. It was Summer Exclusive who caught Mr. Sexy, and rolled on by him. Master Appeal (Successful Appeal - Mrs. Greeley by Mr. Greeley) was gobbling up ground late, but Summer Exclusive had the jump on him, coming home a length in front. Master Appeal was 4 3/4 lengths in front of the others, with Airfoil (Bernardini - Wind Flow by Indian Charlie) and Tenkiller Kid (Notional - Miss Wellspring by Afternoon Deelites) both finishing well for 3rd and 4th.
