Ellicit Affair

All six ran on the fast track. Zia Zia Zia (Dehere - Zia Philomena by Coronado's Quest), the only filly with experience, was the heavy favorite. Illicit Affair (Midnight Lute - Silverbulletday by Silver Deputy) was 5-2, and Elegant Bel (Big Brown - Mistical Bel by Bel Bolide) was 18-1. The start was decent, but Elegant Bel began a little awkwardly. Zia Zia Zia broke on top. Hollywood Icon (Nobiz Like Shobiz - Private World by Thunder Gulch) and Illicit Affair were in pursuit, followed by Two Blue Hens (Divine Park - Sandra's Song by A. P. Indy), Elegant Bel, and Legacy (Sightseeing - Royal Flush by Smart Strike). Zia Zia Zia was free-wheeling on the front. Illicit Affair took a run at her, but couldn't sustain it. Zia Zia Zia shook free from the field, and crossed the line 6 1/4 lengths in front. Two Blue Hens got into second late, with Legacy taking third, followed by Illicit Affair, Hollywood Icon, and Elegant Bel. Watch the Replay.

It was a Kiptastic Victory

There were no scratches on the fast track. At Bat (Mutakddim - Exotic Wager by Saint Ballado) was the 2-1 favorite. Bolting Brown (Big Brown - Ivanavinalot by West Acre) was 10-1. Mr. Providence (Spring At Last - Never a Cloudy Day by Dayjur) was unsettled in the gate, and then was pinched back at the start. Bolting Brown hesitated at the beginning. Toolpusher (Tiznow - Fabulous Finish by Grand Slam) had the lead early, but was passed by Dubai Bob (Forestry - Dreamworld by Unbridled's Song), who was able to clear the inside traffic and go to the lead. Toolpusher and Kiptastic (Kipling - Sight o' Gold by Slew o' Gold) were the closest chasers. Dubai Bob began to lose his momentum around the turn. It was Kiptastic who seized the first advantage. Toolpusher stayed involved for a time, but couldn't keep up. Making up ground late were Mr. Providence and Ten Indian (Speightstown - Princess Sequoia by Cherokee Run), who came on to take second and third respectively. But, they couldn't catch Kiptastic, who won by 3 lengths. Bolting Brown never really recovered from his compromised beginning, finishing 6th. Watch the Replay.

An Adorable Win

The turf was firm, and all 12 ran. School Mascot (Langfuhr - Enlightening by Cozzene) was the tepid 5-1 favorite. Love You Tomorrow (Henrythenavigator - Nice Nelly by Seattle Slew) was 27-1. The start was decent, although Love You Tomorrow had to check a bit after the break. No one seemed exactly eager for the lead. Liz Pendens (Macho Uno - Miss Pickums by Afternoon Deelites) took it, with Wickapecko (Corinthian - Georgialina by Affirmed) up front as well. Alydorable (Arch - Esprit d'Escalier by Diesis (GB)) Stylish d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro - Stylish Storm by Storm Bird) were next behind the top pair. Love You Tomorrow was near the back early. Liz Pendens broke away from the others to lead by a couple of lengths. Wickapecko, Alydorable, and Stylish d'Oro formed a chasing pack. Wickapecko caught Liz Pendens, and was able to go by on the inside. Liz Pendens was still involved, as well as Stylish d'Oro and Alydorable. Liz Pendens reclaimed the lead in the stretch, but Alydorable was coming. She got by Liz Pendens late to win by a length. Liz Pendens was safely second, with Stylish d'Oro finishing well for third. Love You Tomorrow made up some ground after her poor start, finishing 7th. Watch the Replay.
