Excessive Drama at Penn National

All nine ran on the fast track. Midnight Terror (Midnight Lute - Hallow Wean by Clever Trick) was favored. Flyin Hawaiian L C (Noble Causeway - Captain Nepal by Captain Bodgit) broke well, but Gilbralter (Yes It's True - Mythically by Fusaichi Pegasus) took advantage of his rail spot to get to the lead. He was chased by Excessive Drama (Outflanker - Excessivelycasual by In Excess (IRE)) and Midnight Terror. Chief Exchanger (Exchange Rate - Lady Silverrod by Marquetry) made an early move to join the action. Gilbralter, Excessive Drama, and Midnight Terror continued 1-2-3 as they entered the turn. Midnight Terror made the first move, but Excessive Drama began rolling as well. They both went by Gilbralter, with the advantage to excessive Drama. He continued to hold that lead to the wire, winning by 1 1/4 lengths. Midnight Terror was clear in second, four lengths clear of Sneaky Devil (Kafwain - Mom's Missile by Golden Missile), who ran well late for third. By the way, this was one of those race occassions when the blog title, Midnight Terror is a Sneaky Devil with Excessive Drama, predicted the trifecta (although you needed to box them). As most of you realize, the blog titles/race headings do not reflect my picks, they are names that I think sound interesting together. Watch the Replay.
