Silvertonguedtommy Tells the Winning Tale

Crowned Warrior (Majestic Warrior - Sweet Brandy by Hennessy) and Come On Fred (Latent Heat - Mambo Monique by Kingmambo) were scratched, leaving 5 on the fast track. Filly Searchparty Dolly (Posse - Procyon by Distinctive Pro) was the slight favorite over the entry of Silvertonguedtommy (Street Boss - Golden Say by Golden Missile) and filly Knight Is Calling (Offlee Wild - Diamond Tiara by Mr. Greeley). Silvertonguedtommy outbroke the others, and Rope (Henny Hughes - Confederate Bond by Broken Vow) set after him. They were followed by Knight Is Calling, Aisle One (Aisle - I Say I Do by Oh Say), and Searchparty Dolly. Silvertonguedtommy had a good 5-length lead as they entered the stretch, but Rope began to find his best stride. He closed and closed on Silvertonguedtommy, who was getting a little tired, but at the wire it was the latter colt by a head. It was better than 5 lengths back to 3rd-place Knight Is Calling, followed by Searchparty Dolly, and Aisle One. Watch the Replay.

Charity Begins at Aqueduct

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Magical World (Distorted Humor - Pleasant Home by Seeking the Gold) was favored, and Sylvia T (Curlin - Brisquette by Unbridled's Song) was 21-1. First-timer Cape Song (Unbridled's Song - Capeside Lady by Cape Town) looked a little interesting in the prelims. It was a decent start, although Cape Song seemed to leave the gate a little awkwardly. Ever Awesome (Awesome Again - Dante's Mary by Boston Harbor) was showing some speed, but Charity Ball (Indian Charlie - Sweet Rider by Seeking the Gold) zipped by on the inside to set the pace. Ever Awesome assumed a chasing position, along with Minx (Tapit - Rutledge Affair by Colonial Affair), Magical World, and Barbie Wire (Tapit - Fencelineneighbor by Wild Rush). Sylvia T was near the back in the early going. Charity Ball continued to lead, although the group was pretty well bunched. As they came out of the turn, Charity Ball began to separate a bit from the others. Coming home strong was Cape Song, with Barbie Wire and Sylvia T in the mix as well. Cape Song made it interesting, but at the finish it was still Charity Ball by a length. Cape Song was 2 lengths in front of third-place Barbie Wire, with Sylvia T recording a respectable fourth.
