Moonblood Brings in the Lute

Snookie Cat (Tactical Cat - R Suzie Q by Quaker Hill) was scratched, and the track was fast. Bringinginthelute (Midnight Lute - Starry Pie by Pioneering) took the early money, but Moonblood (Election Day (IRE) - Luna (MEX) by Mr. Greeley) was favored at pos time. Bringinginthelute looked nice in the prelims. The start was good. Miss Chievous Lady (Into Mischief - Patricias Prospect by A. P. Indy) went to the front. Four Letter Word (Any Given Saturday - Word o' Wisdom by Hennessy) was her closest competition. Bringinginthelute was in fourth, stuck in a big of traffic. Four Letter Word took a brief lead as they came out of the turn. Moonblood and Bringinginthelute were both bearing down on the leader, with Moonblood on the outside, and Bringinginthelute between horeses. Moonblood and Bringinginthelute finished together, with Moonblood getting the victory by a short nose. Four Letter Word was another 1/2 length back in third. It was more than 7 lengths back to the others, who were led by Dangerous Angel (Forest Danger - Anna's Angel by Raised Socially). Knowing How to Win

All six ran on the fast track. Debuting What You Know (Master Command - Fickle Factor by Touch Gold) was favored, and Oasis At Midnight (Midnight Lute - Per Se by Deputy Commander) was also well-respected. Miss Moonshine (Malibu Moon - Shiny Sheet by Press Card) went to the lead. The others were in pursuit. Makayla's Angel (Sky Mesa - Perfectly Stunning by Silver Deputy) came up the inside to apply pressure to What You Know, and she took a short lead. These two separated from the others by many lengths. What You Know was beginning to make up ground from the back. Miss Moonshine went back in front of Makayla's Angel as they entered the stretch, but Makayla's Angel was still right there. What You Know continued to advance.  She went by the top pair, and pulled away for a nice 5-length win. Miss Moonshine held second by a similar margin, followed by Makayla's Angel, Oasis At Midnight, Karen's Rag Doll (Crypto Star - Hanalei Bay by Exploit), and Classy Broad (Tiznow - Forest Huntress by Forestry). Watch the Replay.

Mills Rolls Home

Ghetto Prince (Forestry - Madeira M'dear by Black Tie Affair (IRE)) was scratched from the main field, allowing AE entrant Squadron A (Unbridled's Song - Peaks Mill by Stalwart) to run. AE entrant Sonic Dancer (Suave - Boomanji by Carson City) was left out. The turf was firm. Mills (Any Given Saturday - Highland Hope by Unaccounted For) was favored, and Order of Magnitude (Henrythenavigator - Jewel Princess by Key to the Mint) was 63-1. Squadron A looked good, and Layton Register (War Chant - Blush On Cue by Theatrical (IRE)) caught my eye. The start was good. Mills was one of the first to show, but Timeless Indy (A.P. Indy - Border Dispute by Boundary) and Squadron A came up to set the pace. They were followed by Mt Tronador (Rock Hard Ten - Barbera (CHI) by Hussonet) and His Race to Win (Stormy Atlantic - Fleet of Foot by Gone West). Timeless Indy had the lead as they entered the stretch, but Mills and Comes the Dream (Lion Heart - Dreamingatdaybreak by Grand Slam) were both charging. Also gaining were Formidable Heart (Dynaformer - Win My Heart by King of Kings (IRE)), and Layton Register. Mills outfinished the others, crossing the line a length in front. Comes the Dream took second, with Formidable Heart third, and Layton Register 5th. Timeless Indy had to settle for fifth. Order of Magnitude didn't do much running, finishing 12rh (last).
