Sticky Winner

Marry Me Next (Rushin' to Altar - Queansco by Humming) was scratched, and the track was fast for the others. Shock Hazard (Dunkirk - Treetop Shock by Forestry) opened at 6-5, and was the even money favorite at post time. Dunnam (Kipling - Blue Sky Vow by Broken Vow) made a favorable impression in the paddock, Shock Hazard look less than thrilled with the proceedings. Only a Pacemaker (Seeking the Best (IRE) - Only Imagine by Honour and Glory) looked good in the post parade, and M J Wyatt (Winter Glitter - Aggie O by Dignitas) got a strong warmup. Shock Hazard balked a bit at the load, and then was restless in the gate. He reared, and the jockey came off. Shock Hazard was taken out of the gate, checked out by the vet, and loaded again. The others remained in the gate and were well behaved. At the break, Shock Hazard was slow to react. Also away slowly was King of Sharks (Sun King - Sharlilly by Sharkey). Ooey Gooey (Political Force - Rocktheboat by Summer Squall), Only a Pacemaker, and Dunnam went after the lead, and soon separated from the others. Ooey Gooey led this pack, but Dunnam kept up the pressure. Only a Pacemaker began to drop back, but Ooey Gooey and Dunnam continued to battle. Dunnam kept trying, but he couldn't catch Ooey Gooey, who went on to post a head victory. Running on late was Shock Hazard, who picked up third. He was followed by a weakened Only a Pacemaker in fourth. It was a positive result for Shock Hazard after a troubled beginning. Watch the Replay.

A Noble Win

Chanceuse (Lucky Story - Miss Madame (IRE) by Cape Cross (IRE)) was scratched, and the ground was good to firm. Banaadeer (Tamayuz (GB) - Loose Julie (IRE) by Cape Cross (IRE)) was the heavy favorite, Stars Over the Sea (Sea The Stars (IRE) - Exciting Times (FR) by Jeune Homme) was respected at 2-1. Stars Over the Sea was away slowly. Istimraar (Dansili (GB) - Manayer (IRE) by Sadler's Wells) and Tax Enough (Awesome Again - Unbridled Ambiance by Unbridled Time) went to the front, and Stars Over the Sea came up on the outside to join them. They maintained these positions for a time, but then Banaadeer (Tamayuz (GB) - Loose Julie (IRE) by Cape Cross (IRE)) and Noble Metal (With Approval - Grain Only (GB) by Machiavellian) went by. These two battled to the line, with Noble Metal just getting the win by a neck. Just another neck back was Istimraar, who was finishing well. This trio was 1 3/4 lengths in front of Stars Over the Sea and Diplomatic Force (Medaglia d'Oro - Criticism (GB) by Machiavellian), who finished just a head apart in fourth and fifth. Newmarket Warrior (Dalakhani (IRE) - Heavens Peak (GB) by Pivotal (GB)) and Tax Enough completed the order.
