Eight ran on the Cushion Track. Amy Jane (Malibu Moon - Five Star Daydream by Five Star Day) took the early money, but Concave (Colonel John - Galadriel by Ascot Knight) was favored at post time. Sierra Electrica (Tapit - Mountain Dawn by Mountain Cat) was sporting a nice long tail, although this was unlikely to make her run faster. Amy Jane looked good, and Pining Play (Intimidator - Pining Jones by Seneca Jones) was a little on edge. Concave made a favorable impression as they headed to the track. Tony's Choice (Storm Wolf - Blanche Sweet (IRE) by Golan (IRE)) was away slowly. Miss Loujean (Unusual Heat - Tempting Date by Perfect Mandate) broke on top, with Amy Jane and Concave after her. Concave came between horses to grab the lead, but Miss Loujean was not done, and got her head back in front. Her advantage was short-lived, however, as Concave reclaimed the lead, this time for good. She pulled away for a 3 1/2-length victory. Miss Loujean held second over Sierra Electrica, who finished well, and a weakened Amy Jane settled for fourth. Watch the Replay. Concave is the fourth winner for Colonel John, his second in two days, and his second one on the turf.

Storm Warning

Wicklow Gray Lady (Monarchos - True to Me by Yes It's True) was scratched, and the track was fast. Ciaran's Prize (Yes It's True - Think Fast by Crafty Prospector) was favored, and Avi'sblazinvictory (Pioneerof the Nile - Maltese Indy by A.P. Indy) was 5-1. She looked good in the paddock, and Ciaran's Prize was displaying some pep. I was liking Enact (El Roblar - Cove Point by Conquistador Cielo). Ciaran's Prize and Pretty Storm (Primal Storm - Pretty Gale by Mountain Cat) were fastest out of the gate, and they soon left the others behind. Avi'sblazinvictory trailed early. Ciaran's Prize and Pretty Storm continued to trade punches, moving farther and farther away from the pack. Ciaran's Prize held the lead into the stretch, but Pretty Storm wouldn't go away. She kept up the pressure, and then got to the front. She went on to post a 1 1/4-length win. It was more than 13 lengths back to the rest, who were led by Enact and Felsinea (Bertrando - Ulalena by Benton Creek), a head apart in third and fourth. Avi'sblazinvictory made up some spots to finish 5th, followed by Lotta Candy Kisses (Lemon Drop Kid - Lotta Rhythm by Rhythm), and Loadherupletherrip (Stephen Got Even - Silenzia by Quiet American).
