A Beauty of a Win

The turf was firm, and only Main Track Entry Radiant (Sky Mesa - Luster by Touch Gold) was left out. The public had a little trouble deciding on a favorite. Bikini Beauty (Bernardini - Beautyandthebeast (GB) by Machiavellian) took the early money, then favoritism shifted to Acquant (Giant's Causeway - Social Queen by Dynaformer), and then Mobilize (War Front - Katy Smiles by Limit Out) got the nod at post time. Holabird (Dunkirk - Graeme Central by Graeme Hall) was almost 14-1. Bikini Beauty caught my eye, and I was liking Miss Super Quick (Rock Hard Ten - Quickest by Forest Wildcat). Holabird looked quiet in the paddock, but lively as they moved on to the track, and better the more that the warmed up. From Tiz Moment On (Tiznow - Coco Belle by Storm Boot) reared a bit at the load, and then Tapitbythesea (Tapit - Haysee by Orientate) reared a bit more. Wonderfully Wild (Offlee Wild - Maitrise by Ogygian) broke on top, but From Tiz Moment On came through on the rail to take a short lead. She was joined and passed by Samurai's Honor (First Samurai - Trip by Lord At War (ARG)). Holabird was at the back. Miss Super Quick and Mobilize came up on the outside to join Samurai's Honor on the lead. Mobilize got by Miss Super Quick in the stretch, but Bikini Beauty was gobbling up ground on the outside. She rolled by Mobilize for a 3 3/4 length win. Mobilize was safe in second, and Holabird closed well to take third over Shy Society (Pleasantly Perfect - Fair Warning by Dixie Union). Watch the Replay.

A Royal Win

The track was fast, and there were no scratches. Where's Alayna (Pure Prize - Golda M by Orientate) was favored, and Avi'sblazinvictory (Pioneerof the Nile - Maltese Indy by A.P. Indy) was almost 5-1. My Fine Lady (Teeman - Miss Catalina by Boston Harbor) had some bounce, and Where's Alayna looked lively. Avi'sblazinvictory looked ready, but was getting a little wet. Where's Alayna was very reluctant to load, and Darkessa (Hacker - Dark Contessa by Expanding Man) backed off as well. Where's Alayna stumbled at the start. Avi'sblazinvictory broke well, but My Fine Lady cleared everyone to take the lead. Princess Dinah (Kodiak Kowboy - Safely by Unbridled), Habitually Golden (Yesbyjimminy - Golden Trumpet by Formal Gold), and Avi'sblazinvictory formed a chasing pack. Princess Dinah emerged from the pack to go after the pacesetter. She caught My Fine Lady as they came out of the turn, and went on to post a 5-length win, despite running greenly. Where's Alayna finished well for second, and My Fine Lady just saved third over Sudden Tempest (High Cotton - Pace Mate by Conscience Clear). Avi'sblazinvictory weakened late, finishing 6th. Watch the Replay. Princess Dinah is the 6th winner for Kodiak Kowboy.

Just a Wry Win

The track was fast. Major Darby (U S Ranger - Parcae by Woodman), High Ransom (Hard Spun - Ruby's Realm by Empire Maker), and Coastline (Speightstown - Culinary by El Amante) were scratched. Thundergram (Graeme Hill - Parental Uproar by Future Storm) was the lukewarm favorite. Hidden Hand (Pioneerof the Nile - Thirtysixth by Dixieland Band) was 14-1. Fire Starter (Tapit - Miss Excitement by Rajab) was a little feisty. Thundergram was acting up in the post parade, and Culprit (Street Sense - Caught in the Act by A.P. Indy) jumped into the warmup. Roman Officer (Roman Ruler - Gem Sleuth by Officer) set the early pace, pursued by practically the entire field. Prominent in the chasing group were Splendid Saturday (Flower Alley - Brilliant Disguise by A.P. Indy), Birdsone (Birdstone - Ladyledue by Slewdledo), and Wry (Distorted Humor - High Heels by E Dubai). Roman Officer still held the lead as they went into the stretch, but he seemed to hit a wall, as Wry, Thundergram, and Culprit all went by him. Wry was finishing best, pulling away for a 3-length win. Thundergram claimed second over Culprit, Fire Starter (Tapit - Miss Excitement by Rajab) closed to take fourth, and Roman Officer weakened to 5th. Hidden Hand was never involved, finishing 9th.
