February 15 Results

Two Steps to the Win

All eleven ran, and the track was fast. The entry of Sail Maker (Malibu Moon - Skipper Tale by Tale of the Cat) and Texas Two Step (Distorted Humor - Miss Salsa by Unbridled) was favored. Denali South Peak (Colonel John - Serena's Sister by Rahy) was almost 27-1. Money Fan (Hard Spun - Handlewoman by Elusive Quality) looked kind of nice in the prelims, and Denali South Peak was looking well. Texas Two Step warmed up very nicely. Five Seasons (Giacomo - Slam's Honor by Grand Slam) was away slowly. Going for the lead were All Cash (English Channel - Andover the Money by Dynaformer), Denali South Peak, Shathoor (Distorted Humor - My Miss Storm Cat by Sea of Secrets), and Bagg O'Day (Five Star Day - Art Gallery by Cure the Blues). Just behind these were Porme Nuther T R (Bob and John - Stephangjess by Yonaguska) and Texas Two Step. Bagg O'Day, Denali South Peak, and Shathoor were battling as they entered the stretch. Looming on the outside was Texas Two Step. He rolled on by for a 2 1/4-length win. Bagg O'Day held second, and closing well for third was Sail Maker. Shathoor and All Cash were along in fourth and fifth, followed by Tale of Honor (Tale of the Cat - Silent Fusaichi by Fusaichi Pegasus), Money Fan, Denali South Peak, Porme Nuther T R, Five Seasons, and Silver Tactics (Unbridled Energy - Clever Hou by Houston). Once again, Denali South Peak showed early speed before fading. But, he did last longer this time. Watch the Replay.
