Time for Two at Keeneland

News and Notes

Since a big day of racing last Saturday caused me some miss some entries, and since Spring has finally arrived, I have decided that it is time to leave last year's crop behind and focus on the two-year-olds. None of ours are entered yet, so I will preview a race at Keeneland for April 5. I have also updated workouts, and included some auction notes.

First-crop sires Tale of Ekati and Midshipman both picked up their first winners with their first starters in Mexico. Tale of Ekati's daughter Princesa Gold (Tale of Ekati - Gizzy by Malabar Gold) won a 4.5 furlong race at Hipodromo de las Americas on March 28. Princesa Gold was purchased for $5,500 as a yearling. Her dam, Gizzy, is a half sister to 3 winners. Gizzy is a daughter of grade I stakes-placed Watching You, who earned $136,475. Sunny Yellow (Midshipman - Crystal Woods by Woodman), son of Midshipman, was a winner on March 29, also in a 4.5 furlong race at Hipodromo de las Americas. Sunny Yellow sold for $6,000 as a yearling, and is a half brother to 10 winners, including stakes-placed Woodmont, and stakes winner Bonnie Scot. Crystal Woods, dam of Sunny Yellow, is a full sister to one winner, and a half sister to 4 winners.
