I was a bit puzzled when I received the notice for Min d'Oro's start in a Maiden Special race. Didn't she already break her maiden? Was I confusing her with another d'Oro?

On track at Saratoga was Smart Woman. Smart Woman is a Smarty Jones' filly out of the winning Storm Cat mare, Storming Beauty. Storming Beauty is a daughter of champion Sky Beauty who earned $1,336,000 and won or placed in 17 graded stakes.

Curly was pushed wide, wide, wider than Big Brown in the Derby (officially 7 wide). Amazingly, Curly kept coming and coming.
