This is a day mostly devoted to Maiden Watch graduates, as we have three grade I's and two allowances. And, just so the name of the blog doesn't have to change, maiden tries for Frosty Diamond (Medaglia d'Oro) and Chattertown (Speightstown). Plus, a grade I result for Be Smart (Smarty Jones) and a maiden result for Noble Rule (Peace Rules).

Nineteen horses in 14 races and not a single scratch. In fact, Mullins Beach (Speightstown) got in off the AE list. The results are below, beginning with the two stakes races (Spinaway and Sapling), then today's winners, and then the rest in chronological order.

On August 31, there are 19 Maiden Watch horses running in 14 races highlighted by Collegiate (Saarland) in the Spinaway (gr. I) and Dueling Alex (Medaglia d'Oro) in the Sapling (gr. III).

On June 23, Maiden Watch debuts at Saratoga in style, with two horses in the Schuylerville, Collegiate (Saarland) and Renda. Plus, In Speight of It (Speightstown) makes his first start.

A red-letter day for Maiden Watch as we had 3 starters and 3 winners including Collegiate, the first winner for Saarland. The other winners were Medaglia d'Onore (Medaglia d'Oro) and Cradle of Peace (Peace Rules). Also, Rapid Redux (Pleasantly Perfect) returns taking on 5 including Prolific (Medaglia d'Oro).

Katolak Cowboy who finished 7th in his debut on April 20, becomes our first return runner. He will again try 2 furlongs at Woodbine. Three of his opponents are back, Tin Pan Alley Cat who finished 5th, Player's List who was 8th, and Can'tstopthiscat who finished 3rd.

Curly was pushed wide, wide, wider than Big Brown in the Derby (officially 7 wide). Amazingly, Curly kept coming and coming.
