Nice bunch of unraced fillies in this one, as 6 of the entries have never run. They are: Sly Storm (Storm Cat - Brushed Halory by Broad Brush), Sheltered (Touch Gold - Miss Pickums by Afternoon Deelites), Splendid Solution (Unbridled's Song - Perfect Solution by Seeking the Gold), Crowninshield (Aldebaran - Queen of Money by Corporate Report), Novel Twist (Holy Bull - The Green Owl by Carson City), and Justanotion (Smoke Glacken - Burrito by Tabasco Cat).

Sly Storm boasts the top sales credentials in this group, selling for $500,000 as a yearling.  She also has some nice family connections.  Not only is Sly Storm by Storm Cat, but she is out of a half-sister to Halory Hunter and Van Nistlerooy.  Brushed Halory herself was an excellent race horse, earning $496,050 including victories in the Delaware Oaks (gr. III) and Sabin (gr. III). She has produced one winner.

Selling for $250,000 as a yearling was Splendid Solution.  She is the first offspring of her dam, Perfect Solution who was unraced. Perfect Solution's dam is Dispute who was a grade I winner of $1,106,907.  Dispute won or placed in 12 graded stakes including victories in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), Gazelle (gr. I), Beldame (gr. I), and Spinster (gr. I).

Crowninshield brought $220,000 as a yearling.  Her dam, Queen of Money, has produced 5 winners from 5 to run including stakes winners Pocketfullofpesos ($192,516 earnings) and Quiet Cash ($355,541 earnings).  Queen of Money herself won the Santa Ynez (gr. III) and finished 2nd in the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) and earned $167,325.

Another yearling seller was Justanotion who brought $120,000.  Justanotion's dam earned $77,517.

Also bringing 6 figures as a yearling was Novel Twist who brought a final bid of $100,000. Novel Twist is a half-sister to 2 winners including Barbecue Eddie who finished 3rd in the Ancient Title (gr. I) and most recently finished 4th in the Golden Shaheen in Dubai.

The only first-time starter who did not sell for 6 figures as a yearling is Sheltered who did not sell at auction. Sheltered is out of the mare Miss Pickums who was a multiple-stakes winner who earned $376,809 including a victory in the Golden Rod (gr. II). Sheltered is the 2nd foal out of Miss Pickums, she has a half-sister who has earned $33,562 without winning a race.
