Himynamissarah (Saarland) outfinishes Conga Queen (Congaree) at Remington Park. Meanwhile, at Belmont, Xtra Heat's daughter, Elusive Heat blows away the competition. Entries include In Speight of It (Speightstown) and Peace Town (Peace Rules) in the TRAPP Mountain Stakes.

Nineteen horses in 14 races and not a single scratch. In fact, Mullins Beach (Speightstown) got in off the AE list. The results are below, beginning with the two stakes races (Spinaway and Sapling), then today's winners, and then the rest in chronological order.

On August 31, there are 19 Maiden Watch horses running in 14 races highlighted by Collegiate (Saarland) in the Spinaway (gr. I) and Dueling Alex (Medaglia d'Oro) in the Sapling (gr. III).

Causin' Havoc with Merlot

On track at Saratoga was Smart Woman. Smart Woman is a Smarty Jones' filly out of the winning Storm Cat mare, Storming Beauty. Storming Beauty is a daughter of champion Sky Beauty who earned $1,336,000 and won or placed in 17 graded stakes.

Just Four to Go for Curly

Curly was pushed wide, wide, wider than Big Brown in the Derby (officially 7 wide). Amazingly, Curly kept coming and coming.

Katolak Cowboy can't keep up with the Girls

It was all about the girls at Woodbine, as fillies took the first three spots. This is not an uncommon phenomenon in baby races, as fillies, like human girls, mature faster than colts.
