Neither Keith's Kitten (Kitten's Joy) nor Tribecky (Saint Liam) could break into the Winner's Circle as Keeneland comes to a close, but Midst became the first winner for Closing Argument. New workers for Afleet Alex (She's a Fleet), Kitten's Joy (Playful Pussycat), and Saint Liam (Wild Saint).

Mine That Bird (Birdstone) came up a little short in the Borderland Derby, but both Smarty Bull (Smarty Jones) and Mein Fraulein (Saarland) picked up wins. Plus 27 Maiden Watch horses are entered on March 1.

Tough day on Friday as two odd-on Maiden Watch horses tasted defeat. Saturday's entries are highlighted by Mine That Bird (Birdstone) and Hornung (Speightstown) in the Borderland Derby.

Three horses in two races Tuesday - Rumble King (Peace Rules) at Finger Lakes and Fabriziano (Congaree) and Work for Peace (Peace Rules) at Delaware, but much of our attention will be focused on the post position draw for the Breeders' Cup.

The Pre-Entries for the Breeders' Cup will be announced on October 16, so tomorrow we'll see which Maiden Watch horses will be trying for the big prize. As many of you already know, Mine That Bird will be on the list.

The Mazarine (Can-III) features 4 Maiden Watch horses, all by different sires. Bedtime Story (Pleasantly Perfect), Livin Lovin (Birdstone), Mullins Beach (Speightstown), and Retraceable (Medaglia d'Oro).

Mine That Bird (Birdstone) wins his third in a row and his 2nd stakes. There's no stopping That Bird. Also, impressive wins for Gemswick Park (Speightstown) and Sweet Kristen (Peace Rules), who becomes Peace Rules' 15th winner.
