I have noticed a number of Afleet Alexes that have had trouble at the start, which could be a sign of immaturity. But, some of that could also be overeagerness - e.g. stumbling, etc.

I would say that the Afleet Alexes seem to improve stretching out, which only happens later in the year.

However, all seem to be late comers. We all know that, even the homebreds, did not come cheaply. Is this due to careful and slow handling, late foaling, or is there a pattern of slow development, here. What's you take, SH ??

Her 2008 Afleet Alex colt, who has not yet been named, was an RNA at the Keeneland September yearling sale.
