But, I am not adding any stallions to the list at this point. By the way, Cribnote's debut was one of the races featured on the blog.

If you want to follow all of the offspring of Read the Footnotes and comment on them, that would be great. Same goes for anyone else for any other first-year stallion.

Philllllly sarrrr - to explain further, a horse can be on the board a lot and not win and accumulate more earnings than one who wins just once. Thus Smarty's leading earners.

I wouldn't mind a horse that hit the board all the time in my partnership. LOL And I would love to have a Peace Rules baby. He was special.

The horses listed are not his winners, they are his Top Earners. La Equivocada has earned $6,270. Cosmo Pirate, who finished 2nd in one start, has earned $25,950.

Readers suggested others and we ended up with a list of 8 - Birdstone, Congaree, Medaglia d'Oro, Peace Rules, Pleasantly Perfect, Saarland, Smarty Jones, and Speightstown.

Other first-crop stallions are discussed when they have offspring in our races, but the stallions above are followed in more detail. Lion Heart's name certainly comes up a lot since he is the leading freshman sire, but he is not on the main list.

This is not a list of the top first-crop sires, this is a list of how the ones that we have been following have been doing so far.

I do not have a financial interest in these stallions or in any stallion. They are "our" boys because we have been following them closely for the past 5 months.
