If Smarty is the sire and Nureyev is the broodmare sire, the class is there regardless of where the race is run.

Are there any of the other Smarty Jones first crop who are looking good or close to winning in the States as yet? Not to diminish his first winner - a win IS a win, after all - but running in Puerto Rico for it hardly screams class. I'm still waiting for SJ to justify that 100K price tag.

Christina - set up a STABLE ALERT on Brisnet.com. I'm following Silver Charm's runners, albeit only American Runners. Thanks for mentioning Real Quiet. I'm going to add him to my list of sires to watch. You will have to buy PP's to check race record. I often check Pedigreequery.com for things like DI, CD, and GSV. You can usually find total starts, money won, and significant notes. Be prepared for lots of emails daily, if you do this. Have fun!

christina - we are primarily focused on 1st-year stallions (and within that group even more focused on the 8 chosen by me and the group: Birdstone, Congaree, Medaglia d'Oro, Peace Rules, Pleasantly Perfect, Saarland, Smarty Jones, and Speightstown.) Other stallions are mentioned as they relate to the horses in the maiden races. It is doubtful that Charismatic will receive much mention since he was imported in 2002 and his youngest NA offspring are 5. However, if you know of any notable debut runners of his in Japan, please feel free to post.

It appears that the Peace Rules are either maturing early, or have over zealous trainers and owners. It is, however, only the beginning of July. Maybe the Smarty offspring are being afforded more time and concern. I'm as excited as anyone to see the offspring of first year stallions on the track, but I'd also like to see them as three year olds, four year olds, etc.

Sky Mesa colt SKY VICTOR finished a nice closing 3rd in his debut today...lol they said he's been a problem cause he likes to mount the pony alot. they paid 220k vfor him so dont think they be gelding him unless he becomes to unrully...but he screwed up the start by pausing at the gate, but he came flying late to take 3rd. one to watch for sure

Thanks Sergio. I was able to watch the race. La Equivocada was outjumped by Wonder Girl at the start, but she soon overtook that one and won easily while racing wide.
