My vote is with Riveting Drama, as Daniel says she really has produced fantastic stock from average stallions.

On a seperate note I am expecting my first foal! Exciting all the possiblities it could become :-)

Vertigineux...She has consistently produced very good race horses with each pregnancy and now we are watching Eblouissante to come up and repeat it all over again. Every horseman associated with her training has only had high praise for her intelligence and potential. Her pedigree goes back to Man o'War.

Vertigineux should be BROODMARE OF THE DECADE !!!!!

Really, why even bother? And I'm not even being snarky. The reality is, at least for the next 12 months or so, if you invoke Zenyatta's name in ANY fashion connected to a popularity vote, she wins because her cult is just that devoted.

I chose my "sista by da same Mista" Vertigineaux too.

This is not about da nice niece Zenyatta, its about Balance and her success, 4.2 million for Mr Besilu can I get a whooo hoo..

I know so 2010 right?? But Broodmare is such a long term position I find it difficult to judge this far out for a year but if I had to pick a high seller this fall and Balance had a stridy colt I'd like his chances.

I know, it did not take a rocket scientist did it.

Just like January awards are for last year - so would be my March handed out picks for awards.

Slick fat sale colts that can run the catwalk are a muddy, snotty, clumsy, gangly MESS right now the grooms and handlers have to bloom them into hot house magic.

I love babies.....

ARUROA GOT MY VOTE but i thank they should have a Hall of Fame. All of these mares deserve the win for with out them our races would not be what they are. their blood lines will go on for a while but we have lost a lot over the years to never get back these are part of our histroy of racing Great job on selecting these GreatMares

@Ben: Do you really think Blugrass Cat's brief career as a bridesmaid in three year old races is more impressive than Balance's 3 grade I wins? Or are you just not aware that Vertigineux has had other foals.

Born Gold got my vote, she has the best money producers with the exception of Vertingeaux, whose number is raised by Zenyatta and by one other. Wish they could all get the honor all are outstanding mares.

Vertigineux is not Zenyatta. Yes Zenyatta has gotten lots of glory....allllllll well deserved but let's give her dam the awards she deserves! Hands down Vertigineux, soley for producing one of the best racehorses to have ever lived!!

She's produced 33% stakes winners from foals, 29% grade 1 stakes winners from from foals, the greatest mare in racing history and over $8.5 million in earnings. Have to go with Vertigineux.

Riveting Drama, she has been bred to modest sires, yet has gone on to throw consistent tough runners worldwide.. 8 for 8, she is a special mare.. 2nd for me is Get Lucky, 3rd Vertigeneaux 4th Pretty Discreet, and 5th Aurora

What about Riveting Drama? She produced Big Drama and Little Drama? Both stakes winners? Little Drama got third in a stakes at gulf stream. I think she deserves some credit

Get Lucky has done it all produce tons of top horses and daughters have been very good. Super Saver, Bluegrass Cat, etc. She gets my vote
