La Ville Rouge, the dam of ill-fated Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, has been checked in foal at the 62-day stage of her pregnancy for 2009 and is believed to be carrying a filly.

Lentenor, the 2-year-old full brother to ill-fated Barbaro and to up-and-coming turf specialist Nicanor, turned in another workout June 29 at Fair Hill Training Center.

Sent off as the 2-5 favorite, Nicanor ran off with the field Wednesday to post his second consecutive win and remain undefeated on grass with an impressive victory at Delaware Park.

Lentenor, the 2-year-old full brother to Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, had his first officially recorded workout June 15 when he breezed three furlongs in :38 at Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland. The time tied three others for the fastest of the day among six horses breezing at the distance.

While some of you have already shared with us how to view Lentenor's race at Delaware Park Wednesday, we have news of another alternative that beats the others: the video will be available at bloodhorse.com for an extended period.

Nicanor breezed 5 furlongs at Fair Hill Training Center June 11.

Nicanor, Barbaro's full brother who broke his maiden by 15 more than lengths in his first start on grass, worked 3 furlongs in :37 at Fair Hill on Wednesday, June 3.

La Ville Rouge, the dam of Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, has been tested in foal to Dynaformer at the critical 30-day juncture of her pregnancy.

La Ville Rouge was bred to Dynaformer April 26 and is believed to be in foal.

Nicanor wins by 15 1/4 lengths in his fourth career start. Video included. Photos have now been added as well.

The video of La Ville Rouge and her new colt has been posted; Nicanor will make his turf debut May 13.

On May 5, I was able to visit with La Ville Rouge and her new foal at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington. Pictures included. Also, brief updates on Nicanor and Lentenor.

After spending some time at Keeneland in Lexington this April, Nicanor returned home to Fair Hill in Maryland.
